Kazi got to meet her Mama Juno yesterday at the DOG meet up at Monica's house. OMG, myself and Martin each got confused by the dogs. I'm looking at Juno thinking it's Kazi, and vice versa. So we had a little laugh about switching dogs and finding out when we each arrived home...oops. One thing for sure: Juno is an absolute sweet dog, and she has set the bar high for our dogs to follow in her pawprints. Seriously, a couple of times it was only the colour of the collar that gave them away....that and all those Rogun-like traits. Juno loves to point out any time little Miss Kazi is un Juno like it's because of her father! Oh and she may be sweet, but she's still got mischief in there...she's just really subtle about it...she was in the training room too many times to count waiting for some food to accidentally"fall" off the table....and honestly a lot of that sucking up by the BBQ was just so she could keep an eye on those steaks I think! Watch out for Kazi and Asha when they learn to be subtle! Martin (who had a great time at the D.O.G. getaway BTW, sorry I had to bug out early)

Oh.... spunky Kazi is still "alive and well"...lol. Just ask Dante! hahahahahaIt's just that her "sweet" side is coming out more and more...and lasting longer. She is a very strong dog, but she loves her yard, her ball, her boy Dante, and of course us. As you know Dobes love their pack, and she is very calm, and comfortable when it is together. No matter where we are, when we are together as a pack, or more to say "her pack", she is very calm. That being said, don't try to steal her ball....you will not win. She is a very competitive "player"...lol Oh that's right.....I heard she was in and out of the training room ( that's where the food tables were ).....well at least she didn't knock them over....lol She was a very tired dog that night. The dogs slept the 2 hour drive home, ate their dinner, and were back asleep for the night shortly after.

I was talking to Monica this morning and laughing about the comments regarding Kazi and Juno and "mixing" the dogs up. And we just laughed....and then she told me about her little Jade and how she even had Monica looking at her like she was a "little nut-bar"...Jade came bounding into her kitchen, jumping like a goof....she even had Monica smiling at her, and even thinking she was a little "Kami-Kazi"....lol
Poor Kazi.....she went out into the rain tonight with Dante, and the two "goofs" were frolicking in the rain. Go figure.....now they're sleeping as it was so warm, and they were chasing eachother around the yard....

All you could hear was her big paws galloping around, then she'd throw herself onto her most favourite Kuranda bed, leap off again, buck around some more thrashing her head around. FRAP in all its glory!

Oh, FRAP = Frenetic Random Activity Period. Last about 5-15 mins a couple times a day in young pups. Just in case you just thought your pups were crazy, they're not. This is a normal stage of development.

Lol well scarlet still gets that. She will all of a sudden wake up from sleeping... jump onto the floor, play bow, jump around, rub her head on the floor, nub wagging and growling. Is this normal lmao? Anyone else's dog do this..... Or is she just a "unique" girl hahaha

Dante is a big goof too. He will throw himself into a play-bow, jump up and run around and then leap up and land on his bed, look at us as if he's saying "come on, lets play".

Kazi is having a BLAST at the cottage this week on Georgian Bay....we have a lovely spot, over 32 acres to ourselves with our own private dock, beach area and lake. Kazi has been working on her swimming, having progressed really well this week. This morning, the two of us walked to the water first, allowing us a couple of minutes together first. She went tearing down towards the water, stopping on the way to wait for me to catch up...she ran into the water, then turned and waited impatiently for me to come and start the "game of retrieval". She practically drowns Dante in her excitement to retrieve the floatie. Yes we have 2, plus balls, but it seems that whatever Dante is going to retrieve, she must also retrieve it, even if she already has one in her mouth. LOL. She tries to jump on his back...and yes they each have life-jackets on...for their protection and our piece of mind. Today, we were working on obedience with Kazi, getting her to sit-stay first before jumping in to retrieve her floatie. They have been very tired dogs .... And we can't believe the hair that has fallen from the two dogs, AND how soft they are! Last year Kazi's swimming was not very good, so on Monica's suggestion, we purchased a couple of pool noodles and placed them under her back end to help her keep it up, thus teaching her to use her back legs. And it has worked! Only when she tires does she get "sloppy" , and it's a good indication to end the swim soon. So her new nick-name this week has changed from Kazi-Doodle to "Kazi-Noodle". LOL.

Kazi is having a BLAST at the cottage this week on Georgian Bay . . . Last year Kazi's swimming was not very good, so on Monica's suggestion, we purchased a couple of pool noodles and placed them under her back end to help her keep it up, thus teaching her to use her back legs. And it has worked! . . . LOL. Poor Dante. He is a long-suffering guy. Your description of Kazi's learning to swim reminds me of Jack's early swimming efforts. He rear end sank, too, and he would paddle like mad with his front feet, smacking the water, splashing up a storm and looking as if he were about to drown. Of course, Bill and I cracked up laughing at him . . . and I think he taught himself to swim properly just to stop our laughter. Jack also loves his floatie Kong, which comes out only for swimming. So it's very special to him, and he can get himself so amped up over it that he sometimes needs to be reminded of his manners.
