HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the N-litter Happy Birthday to them Happy BIRTHDAY Happy BIRTHDAY Happy Birthday to the N-litter
We wish all of Kazi's litter mates a very Happy Birthday. Thanks for all of the stories over the past 4 years, and all of the "support" we have received from each other, and gave, as we have all made very colourful memories with our dogs. Thanks for the many pictures, and I've enjoyed going back over the many pages of this thread and reading "our story" evolve.
Hugs to the N-litter dogs wherever you are.

WOW....where does the time go. While in the shower last night I could hear Kerrie speaking to our little girl and it gave me the idea of what our dogs names should really be. There is Dante, and Kazi-NO! LOL...hahahahaha. Sometimes she also goes by the name Kazi-OFF, and Kazi-LEAVE IT!
Just thought I'd share....

Hey Barb . . sounds very much like a 4-legged friend of mine Quin-LEAVE-IT whose evil twin is Quin-DROP-IT. They like to drive me nuts on walks by picking up and eating sticks they KNOW they aren't suppose to have. Grrrr!! Will even run back and retrieve ones I've thrown into the snow then run past me . .whoppee you can't catch me. Think they are suffering from Winter Boredom..ha ha. I know I am!!

Hello--hello
Well winter is finally gone. Hooray, although we do actually love the season. Kazi is so happy lately that she can stay outside for up to 6 hours at a time. She is definately an "outdoor dog". So with winter season gone, it means that this weekend the dogs and Kerrie are heading up to The Bend for their first weekend of the summer. We have been preparing the home for their arrival the past couple of weeks, and so it goes again.

It's been quite sometime since posting here. I have to admit that using Facebook is so much easier. Oh well....
The dogs are doing well. For those that don't know, we switched both of them to 100% raw and they are doing really well. Each has lost weight, as the fillers in the kibble dog food are just that---fillers. Their coats are shiny, teeth are white, and they just look fantastic. The dogs now have 2 freezers for their food ( a full size upright and a smaller one ) as it is cheaper to also buy in bulk.
Kazi is becoming a "cuddle dog". She is finally letting the Juno-side of her come out ( thank goodness ). That sweetness combined with her rich chocolate brown eyes melt us both. She is still a larger female, topping the scales around 85 lbs, but she looks great. She is still the outdoor dog, happy to spend hours at a time in her yard, with or without Dante. She is a firecracker still, and lights up the house with her personality.
Well I've got to cut this short as works calls.

Well it's been a good summer...and now we are officially into fall. The weather outside is still beautiful, even though the rains have been around for a while. This morning the sun is shining, the leaves are still dropping in the backyard, but have mostly dropped from the front. It's so much fun to create leaf piles and then throw the dogs ball/toy into it and watch them pounce into the pile and search for their ball.
As I wrote on my last post, the dogs are still on raw and doing well. We have added another freezer so we now have 1) a full size upright for us and 2) 2 full size-uprights for them and a smaller one. Why? Buying in bulk is the cheaper way to feed raw. Kazi and Dante are doing well--they are happy, had a great summer...broke out of the home at The Bend ( Mr. Man taught himself how to raise the window with his nose as I left it open 2", and then push out the screen allowing both he and Kazi to jump out the bedroom window and go for a run-about----KIDS!). Well my little European Girl is approx. 90 lbs, and Dante is a few pounds heavier.
Kazi is still our little cuddle-girl, and Dante is his most amazing self. lol. Dante is approaching his 7th Birthday this month..the 18th to be exact. Kerrie has started calling him an "old man", as he has started showing traits of getting old. What are they? Well, when he's tired at night and wants to go to sleep he gets cranky if nobody else wants to go upstairs with him. He will start knocking pictures over, closing laptops with his nose...in general just being a brat! But a very handsome brat!
She has been outside for the past hour already this morning. The sun is shining and she is taking full advantage of the beautiful morning. Dante went out with her, but has come inside. She is the true outdoorsy-dog in this family, that's for sure. She caught 2 birds in flight this year, 2 rabbits, brought a mouse to the door all while we have taken precautions to protect the wildlife. We've said it before about her...if she ever was lost in the woods on her own she would never go hungry. She is a hunter and has a very high prey drive. Dante, on the other hand, will go hungry waiting for his food to be delievered to him.

We are finally into December, and still no snow so really speak of. The dogs are doing great---and haven't torn up the backyard too much yet. 'Geez I just wish we had some snow at least for Christmas. I think I'm the only one wishing for snow this year. The dogs have their Christmas presents hidden in the upstairs bedroom closet, and Dante has already sniffed them out. Geez, all that scent work has really paid off. LOL...
Next month the N-litter turns 5 years old. Boy oh boy the past 5 years is a blurr. Hoping to hear from other N-litter parents about their past 5 years of experiences.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
12 days away from our little girls "5th" Birthday...whoop whooop.
What a ride!!!!!
As I'm writing this she is sleeping on her bed all comfy and cozy. The New Year has brought in new rules for Dante and Kazi. They are not allowed on the bed again, the couches.....here we go again. Oh well, they've been very accommodating...lol.

January 16-----and the rules are going well. They're not 100%, but they are staying off of the bed, yet the couch is a little different. When invited they are allowed up, so things are better.
So, 3 more days until the N-litter reaches another milestone---their 5th Birthday. Mama Juno and Papa Rogun are also doing well, so that's also good news. Also happy to say that Asha and Kazi are becoming better Doberkids for us---oh that first couple years were tough ones. Our advice to others would be to just hang in there as it will get better. Oh, and have a glass of wine. Lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....5 years ago today Juno and Rogun gave many families the chance to adopt an N-litter puppy. Oh how we waited for this moment....we were very late deciding to get a puppy from this litter--and it almost didn't happen. There were 2 spots left, so we were second to last pick. As usual, you have to trust Monica to choose the "right" dog for you, but again we believe that Kazi choose us ( or rather we saved another family from her--lol ). Love this girl to the moon and back as she has become so cute, cuddly, sweet and adorable while keeping her big brother Dante "in line".
We don't say it enough ----but thank you Monica.

Absolutely, I'd second that thank you to Monica too, we all know the trials and tribulations of owning Dobermans now, thanks to her, but also the joy and happiness our doberkids provide us with too! Don't worry Barb, Juno is in Kazi somewhere, Asha is coming around, Kazi will too! Juno has been such a blessing for me, I'm glad Monica suggested her and not Rogun! =)

Well the summer is just starting, and Ms Kazi has been the usual "Kami-Kazi" we all know and love. This past week, she and Dante were at The Bend with Kerrie and friends enjoying the summer's start when Kazi was able to find "freedom" from the group. After a little run around ( thru farmers fields kicking the dirt and dust up, thru bushes and finally landing in the "swampy ditch"---yes I am NOT KIDDING, she had her first bath of the year....from the outdoor hose. Being in true N-litter form, she loved it. She had the attention of 3 women holding and bathing her, and she enjoyed the moment to the fullest. Not so much can be said for the 3 women! So thru the years she has earned the nickname "bug" from her Mama----June-bug. Kazi has been called Kazi-bug, bed-bug, bad-bug--etc, etc, etc and now we are happily adding "swamp-bug" to the earned names. When I say swamp-bug, I truly mean SWAMP. There are things growing in that "water" that we can't name---and she has a vet appt tomorrow morning at 9am as we think she may have an ear infection from it, and think she may have cut her paw ( yes another paw injury to the list for our 2 dogs ) so she will need antibiotics to fight the bad germs she no doubt allowed into her body.
She is feeling good though---and she never leaves us to ponder "what should we do next" with our girl?
