How do you know when the ear stays can come off for good? Ivey's ears had been up for 2 months as of last week, so we took her ear stays off for an entire week without any droop! She has a shorter ear crop so makes sense that they would stand quicker than a longer ear. I have put the stays back on, figured another month isn't going to hurt to make sure. Just wondering how I know when they can be free for good. Do I leave them taped for another month then try leaving them off for 2 weeks?

If they are standing good for a week, they are on their way to being done I would think. Are you changing the stays every few days and letting the ears air out and exercise? or did you mean you kept the stays on for a full 2 months and just took them off last week?? Ivey is a real cutie by the way, I love her name too!!

Lucas ears stand for 3-4 days then one of them flops, but he is teething and has a long crop. so we are continuing with the stays , We change them every four days.

Oh boy my little buddy Luca, He's looking great! I love that little guy and missed him last Sunday sitting on my foot! That is so cute how he does that Great shots of him! I would think to expect to post till at least 6 months of age and after teething is done. If you plan for that you aren't rushing. Up for 4 days range posts, off clean ,and massage the ears, leave down for a while maybe a few hours, then maybe half a day, then a day, etc if you see any signs of starting to droop post them back up again. Better to post longer and be sure. Usually you will be posting till after teething and usually during teething you may find ears will drop easier. My Zeus was more on the extreme timeline as he was 1st posted Jan 30, he was 10 weeks old and he was fully posted till around early July from memory about 7 months old, then he had some reaction to a tape used on his tips, but after healed his tips were taped both ears, then one ear through August and then mid August through to about mid Sept he had breathe rite strips just for the tips. His one ear stood much quicker than the other. So he had something on his ears till he was 9 1/2 months old. I may be off a little on the timelines but I'm pretty close. His ears turned out nice and he does have a tall more slender show crop. When it comes to posting better to post a little longer and be sure as the dog will live with those cropped ears all his/her life and the extra time and effort now in the posting will pay back with beautiful staning ears for a lifetime. By the way Ivey looks beautiful! Monica will probably chime in but that's my 2 cents.

Andreina, I have been changing the stays every Sunday for the last 2 months. So the past week 7 full days, we had her stays off, she was just starting to teeth and also had her final booster shots that same week, yet no ear drop! Thanks for the reply

Anthony maybe PM Monica. My understanding is usually posting contines till past teething.
I was looking at some of the pictures in this thread of her and her ears are still pretty tall but they are a wider down towards the skull and base of the ear so maybe they are real close. Standing for a week and no droop that's getting there for sure. I think I would continue posting till her teething is over but Monica would be your best guide.
