oh..my..god lol.... That is quite the story Monica. Kerrie I had a talk with Scar she says she's gonna give u kisses this Sunday lol no more black eyes . I don't know where she gets this jumping thing from, we definitely don't encourage jumping at home! I had a close call last night... She likes to squeak this ball of hers and always comes up to me like she wants me to throw it for her but no... she just wants to sit there with her head in my lap squeaking it over and over... I leaned in to her face (not sure why I thought this was smart idea lol) and she came back up hard and hit my jaw closed.... Ugh.. That hurt for a while.... Then later on jumped on my bed and knocked my head with her hard head lol. What is with these guys thinking they are little dogs or something? lol

Sometimes he holds it in his mouth and sort of punches it against the floor to make it squeak, but when I'm sitting in an easy chair, he prefers to repeatedly push it against me — until I grow tired of the game. Jack has given us no black eyes, fat lips or broken noses — yet. But that's because we learned from our previous Dobe. Over the years, we became pretty adept at keeping our faces out of the way.

Well I saw Kerrie today, and wow what a shiner in deed! OK, so do I have war wound stories?...lol. Being that I have worked with dogs for over 25 years I have too many. But I will tell you one that sticks in my mind... maybe because I have never been able to live it down since my friend likes to bring it up at least once a year. Many moons ago, when Odin was a young buck, I lived in Erin and I would run the dogs in pairs at the football field beside my home. The dogs were walked over on leash and after I knew the coast was clear, they would get cut loose for their run. My friend was over one night and she went ahead of me with Indi and a minute or two later I showed-up with Odin. I don`t remember what i did that made Odin believe that I released him, but he took off like a bat out of hell. The flexi leash was just reeling out 110 miles an hour, something like that of the fishing line in the movie jaws when he had a hold of it...lol. I was using the flexi pro, the old style ones that were nearly 30`, and when Odin hit the end of that line I went airborne like a kite! I was literally ripped off my feet so hard that the first thing to hit the ground about 6-8 feet later was my hips.. after of which I was dragged another 10 feet while I still had a firm grip on the leash. Jeans, $40, flexi leash $60, look on my friend`s face when I was flying through the air... priceless! My hand hurt the next day and I had some bruises on my hips, but they weren`t bruised nearly as badly as my ego! Odin of course was unscathed... the lil tank! I couldn't even be mad at him, I was too busy laughing in disbelief that I was just tossed through the air like a rag-doll by an 84 pound dog. You should be proud of your Asha. She did it to me too... I didn't flew as high as you did but I was dragged on the ice at least 10 feet! My jeans survived but my knee and elbow had bruises. Gino is stronger but he would never do it to me... Asha such a ball of energy! Barb please make a sigh for Asha too

Well Moxy got me in the mouth right after you (Barb) started talking about war wounds. Only a small mark on my lip, but I got it because Barb jinxed me...lol. I think its fair to say that there wouldn`t be too many people with Dobes that didn`t have a few stories to tell. I`d like to meet the person who would go the entire distance of a Dobe`s life without getting at least one headbutt under the chin when putting on your shoes!
Oh and if you have dogs that sleep in your bed, I`d bet you`ve had a few tender bits trampled on. Phoenix is good for at least a nail or two into one or both of my legs as she bounces around each night as happy as the first night she got to sleep in my bed. Hard to believe that she will be 9 this year. Rhody gets me under the arm at least once a week.. right in the tender area, leaving a black and blue bruise.
Oh Lisa, the idea of being dragged over ice is not very nice. Should I add to my puppy acquisition form that wimps need not apply for dobermann ownership? LOL. This breed can be so gentle, but they are definitely not for the faint of heart.

[evil laugh] Um, Rogun took me down the front steps on that dam flexi. Early morning heading out to the dog show with him, wearing a skirt i went down hard, ripped my nylons, twisted my ankle. Gee, can`t remember if we at least won that day.

I think that adding a special section called "Bruises and Knock-downs" should definately be added to the section of "Do you think your Doberman will be a lap dog"....

So Michelle graced us with not only her presence but with Apollo's as well...we all drooled over him. He is such a handsome boy, and he looks fantastic. Hope that we see you both this weekend coming at the London Dog Show, or at least you. lol.
Well, we only have this coming week to perfect our techniques before the BIG test next Sunday. Monica worked us hard today to make sure we are ready. We all have our work cut out for us this week....but then we are on to Level 2 obedience training.....can't wait ....

So after Scarlet had a nice pastry after class she came home and tried to snatch a piece of banana bread from the back of the counter. We managed to grab it from her mouth though.... Ugh!
