Have to be honest here..... Reading the list of dogs attending in ascending order brought a tear to my eye It is so amazing to see a gathering of this magnitude. If I'm feeling -eyed, no doubt there are others. What an achievement for Monica to have over a decade of dogs gathering for a picnic./walk.

Martin, I'm going to see about coming up and maybe scope out the place Friday or Saturday after the dog show. I'll let you know. That sounds great, definitely let me know and stop by Steph and Sebastian would love to see you as would Juno no doubt! Since they haven't cleared me to go back full time yet I''m free Friday after 12:10pm. And I don't think we have anything too exciting going on Saturday either so I can probably get away then as well. Look forward to seeing you! Definitely looking forward to Sunday as well! Martin

In reviewing the thread I see that extra tables would be helpful. I have a 6' long folding table I can bring and will throw in my X-pen - although it's not as tall as the one you have in your picture Monica. Haven't had it out in ages so maybe I'd better drag it out and see if Quin will even get in it...lol.
Really looking forward to Sunday ..should be awesome!!

Looking forward to seeing old friends and new . . . but Uncle Jack is really delighted to see so many S litter pups on the list. And a pug, too? Jack will really be in seventh heaven. He adores pugs.

I`ll know tomorrow if Indi is coming. So you best get your kleenex and put it in the vehicle now Martin, just in case. Indi is doing amazing as well, and she`ll be more then just lawn decorations if she comes along to this hike. Indi goes for many walks and a daily jog... she's just amazing. Unfortunately Jack will only get to meet 3 of the S-litter pups Dyanne. Renee got called into work and can't come. So Stacy, be sure to bring that fruit tray after-all, cause we're down to just the one. We (Andrea and I) will be bringing some more things as well. Some treats, Andrea is going to make homemade pogos, and maybe I can convince her to make some cornbread as well. Just wondering if people who are bringing pop and/water are also bringing a cooler with ice? I'm not too sure that I have a way to keep water hot, but thought about bringing some tea... maybe it can be iced? Hmm, something to think about. Martin, I'll be heading into Kitchener after the show tomorrow (Sat) to scope out the joint.... lol. maybe around noon-1:pm. Barb, I only emailed a portion of my clients to inform them about this hike. I didn't avoid the older litters on purpose, I just don't have any groups in my email address book prior to the last computer crash. I missed everything prior to the A-litter (Cara's). So since I started alphabetizing in 2000, there is an entire alphabet of litters that didn't get the notice for this walk. I have to go through my records and try and re-establish groups so that I can email those clients for future walks. Mind you many of the very old litters and everything prior to Max x Rocky's 98 litter is most likely passed on, and not many with dogs over 10 are up to the trek. But I'd still like to extend the offer. I registered with the CKC in 1992, and that is when I registered my first litter (Rotties) as well. This is my 20th year as a breeder and I was going to plan a Dobereich reunion this year to celebrate. I shouldn't have listened to the person who derailed me on that front. Lesson learned, and perhaps its all for the better. Cause I don't want to leave anyone out, and waiting till next summer will give me a change to include everyone. OK, I don't want to detract from Sunday's event, so I`ll tell you more about 2013 plans after the week-end is over. I might need monday to recoup though.... lol.

Still looking forward to Sunday even though today is supposed to bring more rain than we have had all summer! The trails were al in superb shape, but with this much rain that is likely not going to remain the case. Huron Trail and Meadow trail will still be fine no matter the rain amount. The smaller trails with natural surfaces may or may not remain passable. I know the Woodland Trail passes through wetlands and in all likelyhood will be flooded with the rain we get today. My personal favourite trail the Forest Trail does have one part that at times is wetlands, I will check today if possible to see if it is passable. Plantation Trail, while it does pass the Sunfish Pond does not go through wetlands and has actually a lot of sandy sections so maybe will still be an option, it does have one steep hill that is hardpacked earth near its start that could be slippery, again we will have to see. I have printed off about 20 trail guides for tomorrow, but there are plenty of trailboards along the way as well. You can find the city's trailboard here... www.kitchener.ca/en/livinginkitchener/resources/HNA-SIGN-TRAILHEAD-2.pdfThe city also provides a pretty decent map to get to the HNA that shows how to get there no matter how you come into Kitchener. The link to that map is here... www.kitchener.ca/en/livinginkitchener/resources/HowToGetToHna.PdfIf you are travelling via the 401 from London or that direction you do not have to travel all the way to Homer Watson. You can exit the 401 at Cedar Creek Road (Hwy 97). Turn left on Cedar Creek Road towards Kitchener/Ayr. As you pass over the 401 there is a traffic light at Industrial Road (literally on the other side of the overpass). Turn right here and follow until it ends at a t-intersection. This is Roseville Road. Turn left towards Roseville, watch your speed entering Roseville, the police like to sit here as it drops to 50km and the International Plowing Match is there in less than 2 weeks you might even see some signs. In Roseville you will turn right on Fischer Hallman Road. Follow Fischer Hallman to Bleams (through one set of lights at New Dundee, through 2 roundabouts, then there will be the lights at Bleams). Turn right at Bleams...the first set of lights you hit is Trillium/Thistledown...turn right on Trillium...the HNA is up the road on the right. It shouldn't affect anyone, but please note that Huron Road is closed at Strassburg Creek as they build a new bridge, so don't use it as a cross street. I will post my email tomorrow in case anyone gets lost, it goes right to my phone. Shouldn't really be a problem the city's map I posted is quite good. Looking forward to a great gathering. PS Monica I think Steph's dad will be coming maybe her mom as well. You have met him before. His dad raised Dobermans in Germany before the war, but unless you have a while that might not be the conversation starter you want to open with... ;D Martin

Hi Sonia and Diva. I am going to jump in here and say go ahead and bring your table if you have one. I have another 6 foot table to place food or drinks on as well that way we do not take up an extra picnic table and folks have a place to drop off their stuff. Sun is shining here right now, but it is a little cooler. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Martin

Good morning!
Everything is looking good for our meet today. Forecast shows partly cloudy and 18 degrees.
Met Martin at the park yesterday to scope things out. There are 6 fastened picnic tables at the pavilion. Washrooms are pretty clean for a park. Andrea and I walked 3 of the smaller trails in an hour. No worries Andriena, they aren't up hill both ways...lol.
We'll meet around 12:00 - 12:30 pm, have a hot cup of coffee and give everyone some time to stretch and greet one another before heading out for a hike with the dogs around 1:00 pm. We'll target getting the BBQ fired up around 2:pm and eat around 2:30 pm.
Remember to bring;
- pooper scooper bags. - a water dish and water from home for your dog (there is also running water at the park available) - It wouldn't hurt to bring layers of clothing. Its going to be perfect temperatures for walking with the warmest peak being around picnic time. But it may feel somewhat chilly at the start. - The grass is a bit sparse in the field, a blanket could be a good idea for your pooch. - Lots of ragweed along the trail, so heads-up to anyone with allergies to come prepared for that.
Dogs must be on leash and under control at all times.
We've had a couple cancellations and a couple new additions. Here's our updated dog & guests (listed by litter);
Athena (A-litter) - John x Jacquie Juno (B-litter) - Martin, Sebastian, Steph (and maybe 2 more guests) Tory (E-litter 2002) - John Dante (F-litter) - Kerrie Jack (G-litter) - Bill x Dyanne Taya (I-litter) - Stacy, Adam + dad and sister Juno (K-litter) - Ryan x Linda Reyna (M-litter) – Jo x Mark Kazi (N-litter) - Barb Scarlet (O-litter) - Andreina x Julian Charlie, (P-litter) Quinn (Q-litter) - Susan Blade (R-litter) - Sonya x Bernd Rumour (S-litter pup) - Mandy Diva (S-litter) - Sonia, Sean, Heidi Duke (S-litter) – Todd x Rachel Rhody (M-litter 2004), Cajun – Monica x Andrea Rosie - Shirley (Martin’s guest) Guest dog - John's guest Snips (pug) – Tracy, Rob, Logan, Jaidyn Rumour - Sheila H Raven (Lab) - Nancy (Sheila's guest) - Mike x Michele Phoenix (L-litter) - Lori x Greg
Maybe coming; Ace (K-litter) – Mario? Tyrion (G-litter) – Marion? Rogan (L-litter) - Mike? Indi (A-litter 1998) - Sandra x Devin? - Meagan?
Our menu;
