Dutch (from the H-litter) went missing from his yard yesterday and has not been recovered as of yet. Dutch is black, neutered, cropped and very friendly to all. Any info contact me at 519-787-3790, monica@dobereich.com

We live in Willowdale, which is the north end of Toronto, just a couple of miles from Bathurst and Steeles. Monica, if Dutch's owners need help posting flyers, scouring streets, or anything else, please let them know that I'm available to lend a hand. (I saw your e-mail this morning and will reply to that, as well.)

An update on the search for Dutch. I sent a message about the his being missing to members of our SchH club and asked that it be forwarded to someone who had recently brought their young Dobe out to visit the club a couple of times — because I knew that she lives in the same area as Dino.
In the small world department, it turns out that she knows both Dino and Dutch from their local park. So she spread the word to friends in the area, and sure enough, the mother of a friend of hers said that she had seen Dutch yesterday — in the Finch and Bathurst area, near the north end of the West Don ravine. I passed this message to Dino, who said it makes sense because that's where he takes Dutch for off-lead runs.
Haven't heard any more from Dino, so I assume that he's out of e-mail contact because he's searching the ravine.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the search is successful and that Dutch makes it safely home!

Dutch is found!!! Yippee!!! I searched the Toronto Animal Services website tonight, and there he was. Finally. TAS actually picked him up yesterday but didn't get his info posted until tonight.
Dino was going to pick him up tonight, but the bad news is that TAS is closed for the day, so Dutch will have to spend another night in the clink. At least we know that he's safe. Phew!
A side note: The TAS post estimated Dutch's age as nine months. I laughed when I saw that. I'm sure the same mistake would be made if they were dealing with Jack, and I imagine the same would be true of a lot of Dobes.

Dutch's owner wanted me to extend his thanks to everyone who helped find Dutch. Now that Dutch is home, I`ll give him a bit to recoup, then he will come here so that I can find him a new forever home.
I laughed as well at the 9 month old Dobie. He is a really handsome boy. I won't get into my disappointment in how events have turned for Dutch. But what's done is done, and looking ahead, someone is going to be in for a treat to own this 9 month old adult...ha-ha.

. . . someone is going to be in for a treat to own this 9 month old adult...ha-ha. A treat for sure. Olga, my SchH acquaintance who knows Dutch from the local park and who helped get out the word that he was missing, was very upset when she heard that he was lost. She commented that he's a wonderful dog!
