Lisa??? Hope you, your family, Gino and Asha are okay. Please let us know whether you're affected and how you are.
I guess Gino and Asha won't be enjoying their usual swims for a while.

The flooding is devastating. We did not go to work today. The offices were closed in downtown. Schools were closed. Roads were flooded. Most bridges were not accessible. Downtown looks like a ghost town now. 10% of the city population are evacuated. NO power in the evacuated areas. It may take 5=7 days to restore normal business in downtown. We are lucky to live further from the river. No problems here. Asha and Gino are enjoying their lives running in the rain. No doggy swimming for a while No hiking either. There are mudslides and washouts in the mountains. Many bridges are gone. So sad. Thanks Dyanne for asking.

Oh, glad to hear that all is well, more or less, with you and yours. So far, all Bill's relatives are okay, as well, though their day-to-day lives won't be quite the same for a while.

Oh yes.. the damage is huge and it will impact everyone life. My favorite Kananaskis country is not accessible anymore. Rock slides and mudslides ruined highway 40 and 5 bridges are gone. Very sad.
We are not allowed back to the office before Wednesday. Gino and Asha will be happy to have us home.

We are lucky to live upstream. Today we and the dogs visited the park next to the dam. Everything looks normal... the water level is high but not critical.
Thanks for your good thoughts!

As I sit in my home, 9 pups in the lower level with momma, 10 other large dogs, my daughter and uncle's pugs, etc. I can't help but think what I would do in such a disaster like Calgary is facing. Picking up and leaving is the best thing to do, but wow, people like me would have a really hard time arranging an evacuation under those circumstances.
My heart goes out to everyone who's suffering through the damage. Watching videos it seems that people are being pretty strong.

Mind you, it would mean that our garage would probably get cleaned out. Bad joke, I know . . . and if it seems like a direct shot at Bill . . . well, it is. LOL.

The dogs are no doubt very happy to have you both at home. I can't help but thinking what Monica said.....how would we cope if it happened to anyone of us.
I am so glad that Asha and Gino are safe.....

So the Stampede officially opened yesterday.....what a "feat" for the city and all of the volunteers to make that happen.

The same thoughts came to me when I heard about the damage... what whould I do with two Dobermans if I need to leave??? Lucky we live further from the river. It takes 20min to hike to Gino's and Asha's favorite swimming place. Now it's all dirty and ruined My dogs are so confused why we don't go swimming. Yes Stampede is a success... that's amazing what they accomplished in such a short time! I hope flooding in Toronto did not impact you. The climate is changing.... scary thing.

Yes, it wouldn't be easy to move 2 dobermans....and glad you didn't have to worry about doing that.
