Hi All,
My name is Jordan. The last time I owned a dog was about 9-10 years ago, before I moved to Canada. Because of the Pitt Bull Ban, I was forced to part with my buddy. I've wanted a dog ever since. Now I have my own family, I'm regularly employed, I own a home, and I'm old enough to make my own decisions (lol), therefore I thought it was time to get a new dog.
After months of research and carefully matching our lifestyle and preference to the best possible breed, my family and I chose a Dobermann... and THEN we researched MORE on different breeders. Luckily we found Monica... and here I am!
Although Eden x Bruin would've been a great pair, I'm very excited to know that Apollo would be producing my litter, as my wife and I were amazed with his calm/kind temperament. Along with Eden being such a sweetheart, I can't wait to see what these two will produce. I believe I have 1st pick male (after Monica).
Anyways, this is my first doberman. I'm looking for any advice that I may not have found through research already. I'm looking for good, dobermann specific, training/obedience techniques (i was thinking clicker?), or maybe suggestions on classes closer to Markham. But, most of all, I want to say HELLO ;D to my fellow soon-to-be owners of the W Litter! Only spproxinamtely 2 weeks until our little one's are born!
Best Regards,
Jordan (Toronto/York Region)

Congrats and welcome! I have also had my first doberman from the V Litter. They are 11 weeks old now and it seemed like an eternity before we got him.
Looking forward to hearing stories and seeing pics of the new litter.
There are alot of helpful people on this forum and any questions you might have will most likely be answered by someone if not by Monica...
Everyone that I have seen is very knowledgeable!

Welcome to the Dobereich Family Jordan.
My 2 yr. old boy Quin is a brother to Bruin, from the Q litter. He is my first Dobe as well and I can't begin to tell you how much support I have received from Monica and the other owner/parent members of the forum. Don't miss the thread re the recent reunion. There are pictures of many great dogs and their owners. I'm sure we'll have the chance to meet at a future event.

Welcome to the forum, and to the Dobereich family.
We have a half/sister to Eden--with Rogun being their Daddy. Kazi and I definitely will recommend a good obedience trainer. From my own personal experience, it is the owner that needs the training, not these dogs! They are like kids---wet sponges that absorb everything you teach them---and a good trainer will ensure that you do this.
Of course there are many other things that are important to your dog....but lots of time to get into that!
First and most importantly for now is a good camera as you won't want to miss those precious moments. They come fast and furious. LOL. They grow so fast that the first few weeks are really very special.

Hi, Glad to see someone else eagerly awaiting the 23rd We also have a male reserved from the w litter and are extremely excited. It's been almost 5 years we've had a doberman in the house and miss it terribly. Although we have not had the opportunity to meet Eden or Apollo yet, talking to Monica has helped us decide on this fantastic litter. I as well am looking for tips on training and obedience classes as we are planning on showing our boy. We live 2 hours outside of Ottawa (Petawawa).

Hey everyone!!
We are also awaiting the arrival of these little rug rats lol. We have first pick black female after Monica. We had a list of names we were trying to decide on but then my 3yr old son decided he liked DEVI the best so I guess that's what her name will be lol. I like it though it means little goddess.
We havent had the privilege to meet any of Monica's dogs or even her for that matter as we live in Alberta about 2600km away. But we have a good feeling everything will work out great!

Hey folks We are also awaiting a female pup from this litter. This will be our first Dob, but she will be joining our great dane and our pug/boston terrier. We can't wait! Like "getmaflipflopz", after much research on the breed, followed by extensive research on breeders, we settled on Dobereich as the very best fit for our family. We are very much looking forward to meeting our little girl and expanding our canine family. So... hello to all.

Best Regards, Jordan (Toronto/York Region) Welcome W litter owners! Jordan, check out Gemini K9 - it's in Scarborough Brimley and Sheppard. That's where I trained my boy Diesel. Check out the trainer Chris Rollux. He does everything from puppy socialization to protection - he's part of a Schutzund club. He has videos on Youtube so check it out. You can always go to Monica for training but my work schedule couldn't fit with her training classes so I had to find someone closer to home. Learned a lot from him so he's a trainer I highly recommend. He too owns two dobermans so he knows the breed well. Eden was only 6 months old the first time I met her and that was three years ago when I first visited Monica - she's spunky girl with great personality. As for Apollo, he is the sweetest male ever! Big softie ...amazing temperament def can't go wrong with him. Look into the U litter pups from Apollo

Let her know the type of dog you are looking for and she'll find you the perfect one that fits your lifestyle/personality or whatever is it that you are looking for in a doberman. Trust that she'll pick the right one for you...Dobereich dobes are the best

Welcome everyone, and let me just start by saying that Eden is getting HUGE! So to be fair, I just whisper in her ear that its Apollo's fault....ha-ha. Actually she's happy, running around like she isn't pregnant, but her legs are definitely aware that she is, and so she's starting to "think" about slowing things down a little... just a little. She seriously doesn't act like a pregnant dog at all, jumping, running, playing, feet going 50 across the room doing the treadmill impression. Yup, this be the mother to you coming pups. A week to go, maybe less. Wish Eden the best and keep positive thoughts for her and her pups during whelp.

It is very nice that you would describe the parents to the W-litter and let these families know that you have met them. I am sure it draws a level of reassurance to those families that weren't able to meet Eden and Apollo in person. Chris has been training a lot of my dogs for many years, and I do also recommend him for people in the Scarborough area. That is if you can't make it here.

Hi, I didn't mention it in my first post, but my name is Stacey. In reference to training...does any one know of/recommend any doberman focussed trainers in the Montreal (South Shore) area? Though we'd love to be able to do our training through Monica herself; that's a bit more of a drive then we're keen on (although not as far as Alberta!). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Monica...have you considered doing a video series? Perhaps you could squeek that into your schedule ;P My husband and son are taken with the name Xena...Probably apt. If Eden meets her expected due date, then 9 weeks from the 23rd is the day before my birthday! I hadn't counted the weeks out on the calendar until today, so now I'm even more excited! I'm not sure if this wait is quite as long as when I was expecting with my (human) children, but it's a very close second! Wishing Eden the very best health and delivery.

Hello everyone, I just joined this forum and am also awaiting a female (hopefully red) pup from the W litter. I have had two Dobes before and although we have a GSD I still miss having a Dobe pup around. Hoping all goes well for Eden and her pups.

WOW so many new parents awaiting to W Litter. Awesome! I've had the pleasure of spending a lot of time at Monica's and seeing these two (as we go for training there)... and I can truthfully say Eden is such a sweetheart and same with Apollo..... I predict puppies who are always happy, prancing around and just plain goofy lol!! Just like their parents. ;D Every time Apollo came into the room he just demanded cuddles lol!
