Hi new W-litter folks. Just wanted to chime in here and remind you to add your signature to your profile. This forum does not allow anonymous posts, and although you have written your name in on some posts, it should appear on all of them. Go to "modify my profile" there's a section for your signature, please just put your first name, and last initial if you like. When you get your dog you can also add their name. But I do not recommend adding your complete contact info and surname to any open forum. Even though you need to be a member to write in this forum, anyone can see the posts and take your private information. Pics of the babies will be coming this week-end, everyone is growing like weeds and doing really well. Very nice litter if I must say so myself.

So do any of you have any names in mind for your future babies? I've decided to reuse my very first dogs name... Mira, apparently when I was 3 picking out a German Short haired pointer with my dad he asked which one I would like and I saw one with her reflection in a puddle (couldn't pronounce mirror), so I said "the one in mira"...

Cute story! And very good of your dad to catch "Mira" as a fitting name for the pup As for our pup, the family and I are big fans of the Zelda Nintendo Franchise and really geek out over it (dont judge us! ). For those who are unfamiliar, The Legend of Zelda is a series of video games, however they contain a very epic storyline and the game is appropriate for all ages. I don't play games much anymore, however I do reply my Zelda games from time to time ANYWAYS, the name we are hoping to fit is Wolfz Ganondorf vom Dobereich or "Ganon" for short. He is basically the main villian in the series, however he represents Power and Royalty on his end of the story. We thought it would be a fitting name for a Dobe, as this is what we saw in Monica's dobermans... Power, Poise, Very Collected... Obviously Monica's dobermans are the total opposite of villians (almost all were big sweeties actually), haha but hopefully you guys get the idea! If the call name doesn't fit, we do have back-up names... OR, in the past I've also winged it and went with whatever matches the pup at the time.

I love the name Ganon! and I have played all the Zelda games... I spent my pregnancy in front of the tv playing the very first Zelda game. I think your safe with the character count.
I have had two Dobes in the past and they were such big babies. Is this your first Dobe?

I have had two Dobes in the past and they were such big babies. Is this your first Dobe? Yeah first dobe. Really excited though. It's been about a decade since I've owned a dog to be honest. I'm sure I have my work cut out for me, but I'm willing to do what it takes to raise a quality and well-mannered dog. Some recent changes... My brother and sister in law have moved in temporarily. They have a Pomeranian. Very good dog.. Doesn't bark, not overly active, and very affectionate... But I'm worried the new dobe will eat little Nugget! Nugget has some slight aggression towards new dogs, but once they are in the same house, he is more calm. If anyone can provide tips on properly socializing them, that would be great. I've done lots of reading online, but I would still appreciate any tips. The Pom does his business and plays outside multiple times a day. Should I keep them initially separated to avoid the new pup from possibly getting sick?

Hi Jordan
Congrats on the puppy from Monica, and actually she will be a "great" source of information for you to rely on regarding integrating the puppy and the Pomeranian together. Of course, the little puppy knows NO aggression at this age, so you will have to keep a very close eye on the two dogs when they are together. Your little puppy will be looking to you to protect him from the world, and of course to teach him how to approach other dogs and humans correctly...and of course you will have your puppy at your side during its waking hours (lol). As soon as a puppy stirs from their sleep, it's right outside to pee/pooh and teach them where they must go to relieve themselves. As for sickness, I assume the Pom has all of its shots up to date, so I imagine depending on how much contact it has with outside dogs, sniffing ground where other dogs have eliminated, going to dog parks....you will need to address these questions to get your answers. But as I said, Monica is your best source of info...

I would be more concerned about the Pom teaching the puppy about aggression then I would be about the puppy beating up on the Pom. A puppy puts their teeth on everything, just as an infant child sticks everything in their mouths. But they do not do it out of true agression. The Pom is likely defensive, being small, and a toy... the toy dogs tend to get away with inappropriate behaviour all in the name of cuteness. So, while you teach your puppy not to jump on the Pom, you really need to watch that the Pom acts appropriately and doesn't take pot shots at the puppy. If he does, keep the Pom away from the pup for a couple weeks, then try them together again. But someone has got to be willing to discipline the Pom for being crusty too. If you don't see that happening, then just keep them separate. Dobes get along really well with small dogs in general. But they also can hold a drudge towards a dog that taunts them all the time... and when they get big enough, the tables will turn! We'll discuss this more individually.

I just received the pictures for the black male pups. Again, I've never owned a dobe, but these guys all look great Showed them to my wife and she has one in particular whom she's excited to meet. Tomorrow is picking day for us. Hopefully the one were interested in is a perfect match for the family! In the meantime, is there anyone else visiting tomorrow for a black male dobe? I know there have been some who have already picked a pup. How did everything go?

We got to choose our puppy this weekend. It was one of the best but most difficult decisions I think I've ever had to do in my life. Finally, we chose the Green collar male (view attached photo) and the more we think about it the more certain we are about our decision! The bound that we experienced with him off the bat was a great feeling and we can't wait to bring the little guy home in two weeks! We also got the chance to meet some of Monica's dogs and were truly touched by the amount of love she has for each and every single one of them. It definitely made us realize that she is so much more than just a breeder, she LOVES each and every single one of her dogs and of course of the puppies!!!!! I'm excited and hoping that we all keep in touch just so that we can see Monroe's brothers and sisters grow up!! Attachments:
