hahaha....I thought I recognized the blue/black coat Dante was wearing. That was his first winter....Kazi will wear it now, he's so outgrown it.
We have boots for Dante to wear in the extreme cold, or when the sidewalks are really salty. Since he had the pad injury, we really take care of his feet in the winter. When he runs though, they go flying off his paws, but in the white snow, the black booties show up.
I haven't noticed the fleece ever getting wet, or too wet at the neckline. I like the style of the Hurta coat, and the price as well. lol. I haven't ever worried about poor Dante and his legs. Makes me sound like a rotten dobermom. Being a city dog, he hasn't had long, wide areas to run freely on a daily basis. At least here, our average temperature doesn't stay below -20C for very long.
Kerrie tells me Kazi has grown again today. She has such long legs....dancers legs. I'm afraid to purchase a coat for Kazi, and then by December I will have to buy her a new coat.

Katja explained me 24" fits adult females and 26" is good for males. They are more roomy and not so neat as Chilly coats. The neck is adjustable and the coat has strips for back legs. If it's a bit shorter it should not be a problem. If Asha stays 24" long in back for the next 3-4 weeks she won't grow too much after... maybe 1" the most. She will fill out but it doesn't matter as coat is adjustable. If you have cozy Chilly coat from Dante you don't need to take a risk Gino's coat was damaged last year after wild dog games. Yes... my dogs are part of the local wildlife LOL.

I am going to order before Aug 21 to get 10% off. That's the great deal $67.50 and free delivery for high quality warm coats.
Gino gets black and Asha red. Thanks for your help to make the decision.

Hey Gary, you convinced me again Our little fellow just started to shake a little bit when going out for a walk... I figured out it was time to get him his first coat... And what else could I buy than a ChillyDog Winter Coat ? I found it in a boutique in Montreal.... I preferred to see it live so he can try it out.. I chose a 21 inches so it could fit Auguste for complete winter... I guess next year he will be mostly full grown so I will have to buy another one larger than this one. What I really like from the coat, other than knowing my puppy will be kept warm, is that it's so simple to put on ! I hated all the one that we have to insert the paws in... But ChillyDog is simple to put on, a few secs and it's done ! Oh and I forgot, the color is Orange Brulé (Burned Orange) I think it match perfectly Auguste's almost red markings. Here's a picture of him posing for the papa'ratzies ;-) Attachments:

Very nice Auguste!!! Look like it's a battle of the coats on here, I'm on board with Lisa, we purchased a Hurrta coat for Scarlet. It is very nice, great quality and looks super warm. Got it in the mail a couple days ago, haven't had a chance to take photos though. She keeps trying to eat it off herself lol.

Stefan you didn't go wrong with the Chilly dog. You already see the simple easy on and off and the way they cover all the key parts of the dog to stay warm and the nice way they cover the top and back of the hips. The dog can run full bore and the coat always is in place and will go back into place without lots of adjusting. Zeus has 2 Chilly Dogs and I would buy another one in a hearbeat. They rock and he loves them. Real easy on and off, no velcro, wash well, warm, covers the dog perfect and they wear excellent and look nicely tailored to the dog. Zeus is wearing his each morning this week for his early walks. You can't go wrong with a Chilly dog.
I would like to see a Hurta in person though. Andrenia can you bring the Hurta coat on Sunday to D.O.G. so I can see one?

I second the Chilly dog line... the Great North line is amazing and my "kids" love their jackets. I understand that rationale behind getting a cheaper coat and saving the money, but when it came down to it my decision was based on the fact that I saw the coats in person, supported a Canadian Company and they will stand behind their product as well. I had a seam let go on one of the edges, and when I called them, they told me to send it back so they could see it where it let go... and they would fix it no problem. Here's one of my favourite pics of Magnum (black jacket) and Diamond (Burnt Orange) in their Chilly Dog coats last winter. Oh... and here is a picture of them in their Cozy Coat PJs for cool nights around the house.

Well we are also Chilly Dog purchasers.....Dante has 2 GWN coats, and I also love them. They wash up very well, and stand up well to everyday wear also. He also has the raincoat/slicker, and I absolutely LOVE this coat. When we have to go out in the rain, his body is completely dry. And he also has the sweater to wear on chilly days..or underneath the slicker. I agree that the company sells a good product, is very eager to please consumers, and is Canadian. Don't laugh, but the lounge coats are really good also. They wear it after being in the water, after a bath...it really works well to contain their hair and dry them off.

I love Chilly Dogs coats. They look great. Kerrie and Barb are right. We should support Canadian producer but... the price was a decision driver for me. I bought 4 Hurtta coats (rain and winter) for the price of 2 Chilly Dogs coats (including shipping). The quality is equal. Hurtta coats are perfect for active dogs like GIno and Asha. Flying Asha in her rain coat After wrestling with Gino... the coat is strong enough to stay in one piece LOL ...and my sweet Gino in his rain coat

I would have done the same thing buying 4 coats for the price of 2...they look really good on them Lisa. They look 'handsome' in their coats......

Ian what a great shot of Mags and Di in their Chilly Dog coats! I love the stance and look of magnum in that shot! Handsome and alert! Barb & Kerrie - Can you bring the Chilly Dog Rain slicker so i can see one? it's just a single layer vinyl coated fabric right? Is there any breathability or do you think it's like us slipping on a plastic bag and walking in the rain where you get cold and clamy underneath? Now that I think of it dog's don't perspire like humans, so they wouldn't have the same feeling as us. Your thoughts as you have the rain slicker and use it? I know in the summer when it warmer I would like something for walking Zeus in the rain. This time of year or early spring I just use his GWN but it's far too warm for summer in the rain. Someone has a birthday coming up and also Xmas

Gino and Asha coats have breathable, dirt and water resistent outer layer and net lining. No fleece. I use it for warm and rainy days to keep my house clean.

That's the rain type coat you posted the close up picture of Lisa? Not the winter type Correct?

Just following the thread and Hurta does look cool. Isys and Ronin do have coats from Chilly Dogs ... but like collars ... there is always room for more. My Dobermans are fashionable after all
