What updates do you expect Heather? Is litter planned in August or September? You will know if Cleo is pregnant in June or July.

Hi everyone...toys....I will always say the cheapest thing about owning a doberman is purchasing them, then after that.....oh boy! The coats, the vehicles, the toys, the list is endless...lol....
Dante wouldn't go pick up a kong, unless you put a treat in it of some sort....he loves the chuckit ball---it acts like a soother for him....any plush toy that squeaks is awesome, but you have to watch him as when he gets going he will tear it apart if he's unsupervised. The dinosaur he came home with, and Kazi's too, still gets used. He killed his first 'frog' toy, and we got the same one for Kazi, and now I don't even know where it is..lol...it's probably buried with his. I agree with Lisa, just to wait for the list. But being a prospective dober-parent, we know and understand the need to purchase more toys...and more toys...and more toys. A toy box is a a great idea..Dante and Kazi have one also. They really know to go there to find all of their toys, and they will rifle thru the box and come out with the one they want. It's quite cute to watch. Cosco has a great price on the Kirkland dog beds, and they wash up great. We have several in the house, in the bedroom, the tv room, the rec room, the vehicle....they are awesome.
We really like the xpen...we never had one with Dante, but it's been great with Kazi. So, I would suggest that purchase. We have a crate in the bedroom, also one in the tv room. Too much trouble to move them...and we borrowed one from a friend to use in the vehicle when going places...they had a small one that we're about ready to return as she's almost outgrown it. Check on kijiji for gently used ones....sometimes you can get lucky. But always check with Monica regarding the type of crate she suggests you purchase.
Have fun shopping....

Monica, sent me an update last month on the 19th. She said that Cleo went into heat early and that the puppies might be going home the end of July or beginning of august. Love the setup for Asha btw. Too cool!

I haven`t updated the website yet, figured I`d wait until things settled with Cajun`s litter and update everything at once on the site. But ya, Rogun struck a deal with Cleo and all his flirting made her come into heat early. I knew it was going to happen, cause Cleo did that once before, flirted so much that it brought her into heat. she`s a real hussy i tell ya, and I`d hate to see what a dog like her would drag home if she were running free...lol. Wonder what the little hussy will do when she gets spayed after this litter. I already sent an email to the P-litter clients to let them know about the changes before the breeding took place. Everyone was OK with the earlier date, that is everyone by me! But what can i do, Cleo has her own mind. She`ll go for an ultrasound in about a week to confirm pregnancy. Her pups will be heading home the first of August now instead of Sept. Heather, there are a couple people on the forum that have pups from Cleo`s litter last year. Jodi has Luna, and Svetlana has Diesel. I think her avatar name is ladydon... send her a PM and ask her to post some of the lovely pics she`s been sending me. Jodi always has some great shots of Luna too. you can find several right here on the forum.

Moved portion of your post to the N-litter Lisa, but this still pertains to the P-litter, so I've left it here. That's the great news you will have puppies at home before August what it the best time to raise them. Poor Asha had to adjust to the low temperature and learn to play in snow. Now it's very muddy she has to play on the deck.

Yeay! Thank you Monica, for updating the website! Love all the O-Litter pics you put up. They are just beautiful and Cajun looks great. So I'm sure Cleo's ultrasound went well?

Seems like all our dogs are cut from the same cloth in regards to toys ;P
Reyna LOVES the super annoying CUZ. The louder and more shrill the better! She just stands there and chews it... always when you need silence of course! LOL She also loves the dinobone from Monica - she chews it all the time and has barely put a dent in it!! Could care less about the Kong, loves to chew on whole carrots (like a bone), and really loved the Frog from Monica too. Chuckit is essential also. Like Zeus, Reyna is not a toy-eater, thankfully, but has recently discovered that she can ripe apart 'certain' stuffies and spit out the stuffing. Also funny is this teeny cat toy (a little stuffed catnip mouse) that she will pick up and carry around but has never chewed/swallowed/destroyed or anything... I thnk she is just trying to tell Mango (one of the cats) who is REALLY boss! I am really careful with those though 'just in case' and make sure they aren't just laying about. I also got her a basket to serve as her toy box which she loves. Sometimes she even puts them back there, but most often just hoards them in her bed. LOL. One day she had about 6 toys, my flip flops (unchewed), the bathmat, towel, and a paper towel roll from the recycling bin in there with her.
A fun game I play when she is restless in the house, which is not often, is to toss ALL her toys out of her toy box and watch her run around trying to pick them up and play with them all... or take 3 at a time back to her bed!!
She loves to play ball in the park. When she gets a ball, she'll hold onto it and try and pickup another ball in her mouth at the same time, or bat the second one around like a soccer ball... very funny!

Raven and Kira both are pretty good esp if she is black and tan the name Raven fits nice. Pesonally I think Alice is very plain but that's me. if it has meaning to you and you like it who cares what I think What you think is most imporant. It seems though that the few I've asked recently or herad discuss about their dog's name they have a fair amount of thought and meaning to it. Kasa, Kazi, Reyna all have some cool meaning to the name. I'm sure many others are on that same train of thought. Ian who has one dobereich Dog Magnum also has a female from a breeder friend of Monica's. She is called Diamond and registered as Diamond's are forever. Ian LOVES baseball and plays himself thus the Dianond as baseball diamonds. You will need something starting with a P for her registered name as she will be from the P litter so think about that too. Our name story goes like this......... Zeus's registered name is Dobereich's Freedom NB. Freedom is for the F in the F litter. The meaning of his name, lots was going on in our family at the time he was coming to join us and he was basically the start of a new beginning and freedom from the past. My wife came up with it and it was pretty cool and made sense. He's still just Zeus everyday to us....well Zeus III as he's our 3rd Zeus so you can see we like that name! The Zeus name goes back to Magnum PI TV show and Zeus and Apollo were the dobermans in that show. I used to love that TV show and lay on the floor with Prince our doberman of the time and we would drink beer and eat popcorn together and watch the show. I loved the name Zeus but our doberman was alreay around many years and was named Prince before we got him. So to follow was Zeus 1, and then a Zeus II and now a Zeus III Zeus is the god of all the gods of greek mythology so he's the top guy of greek mythology and our dobermans tend to be top guys around our place. So that's my long winded verson of commenting on your pups future name. Again who cares what I think! ;D It's your pup and what you decide is what's right for you!

Alice means Noble in German.
I am mostly of German decent. I also love the movies Alice in Wonderland and Resident Evil. The main character in the movie RE is named Alice and is the savior of earth after the Umbrella Corperation genetically engineers super human monsters.
Raven doesn't really have any real meaning. It is of course a bird and a color.
Kira is a Russian feminine variation of CYRUS. Cyrus means Sun or Throne in Persian.
I will have to give the registered name a deep thought as well. the letter P, hummm...

My 2 cents worth here......a 2 cyllable worded name works best also in training your dog....
