STEW FOR DOG BY MIREILLE
Here is the recipe for my dog's stew recommanded by my doberman breeder (Monica).
To do it twice a month, takes 30 minutes.
Part One
2 pounds lean ground beef (I have cooked with 2 cups water or it will stick to the bottom)
Cook meat and drain fat.
Once the beef has cooled, add ...
1 can of salmon, herring, or sardines (me a can of salmon 213 g)
1 / 3 to 1 / 2 container of cottage cheese (I used 1 containing 1% cottage cheese 250 g)
2-3 cloves of fresh crushed garlic
1 / 3 cup safflower oil (or flaxseed oil)
Part Two
Cook together in a large pot with water (me about 4-5 cups of water to cook covered)
2 cups steamed white or brown rice (dry) (i used uncle bens rice white)
1 medium carrot (diced into tiny cubes)
A yam or sweet potato (diced tiny cubes) (I used sweet potato)
1 large potato (diced into tiny cubes)
1 large apple (diced into tiny cubes)
(I myself peeled vegetables and apples then cut into small cubes)
When it is cooked, add ...
2 cups oatmeal (I used Quaker Oats)
2 cups chopped fresh spinach (1 bag for me it contained 171 g / 6 oz)
3 eggs
Once it's cooled, stir and refrigerate. (personnaly I mixed everything in a large pot that I use for my spaghetti sauce)
Give one overflowing tablespoon (about 1 / 4 cup) with each meal of stew and a little warm water to mix everything.
To give with his usual food.
Makes 2 large containers Gladware about 8 cups each
If you're in a rush, you can quickly perform this other receipe using these ingredients in the same proportions as above:
Rice, meat, eggs, carrots, garlic and oil. (In the same proportions as above).
My puppy loves
I remake the receipe again and added dietary supplements as recommended by my breeder.
1 / 3 cup safflower oil (2 / 3 cup total)
1 / 3 cup of ground flaxseed
1 / 3 cup powdered vareth (kelp)
1 / 3 cup of yeast
4 c. Tea Ester C (calcium absorbate)
I added these ingredients to cooled preparation.
For this time I separated the stew into smaller containers to keep in the freezer.
I refrigerate both containers in the refrigerator to thaw.
Makes 6-1/2 container 3 cups
