Zeus has the Great White north head Muff and he will wear it on real cold days but he's not a great fan of it. It does work well though with the Chilly dog coat to cover his ears and protect them from the cold.
I walk him with a cap and my ears exposed. I know if it's too cold for my ears and I need a touque or something on my ears then he needs the GWN head muff over his ears. Pretty simple test but it works well. I have his head muff in my pocket and within half a block I know if he needs it. The muff has lots of room so it works well with a doberman with cropped ears and the drawstring will keep it in place fine walking.

Dante has 2 Chilly Dog coats for winter, a rain slicker, each has a lounge coat, he has a sweater, and his ear muff. Now, he doesn't really care for the ear muff....he usually has it off of his ears after 10 minutes into our walk. He prefers his ears "free", so I use it then as a neck warmer. lol. This winter Kazi will wear his first winter coat, and next year when she is fully grown, she will get one of her own...or so I'm thinking right now. But that may all change...lol. Maybe she will like wearing the ear muff?
