I was really excited to share this with everyone. I am sure Monica and maybe some of you may know of this place, but for the rest, it's worth a little stop! Every time I drive to Monica's I see this sign for an Elk Farm on the Eramosa Town Line, but don't ever have the time to stop before, and they are closed by the time we are done on Sunday. Because we are earlier today, I decided to take a detour down the dirt road and check it out... Awesome stuff! Freezer FULL of different cuts of elk meat (t-bones, sirloin, ground, burgers, sausages, etc...), and a fridge with fresh pepperettes, summer sausage, and jerky! I picked up some frozen sausages and pepperettes... the pepperettes are YUUUMMMMY!! And a great snack for the drive home Haven't tried the sausage yet, but will be sure to post a full review when I do! (Maybe I will bring some next Sunday!!) If you've never had elk it's pretty awesome. VERY VERY LEAN and REALLY good for you. High in minerals, vitamins and all that stuff... plus it's tasty. Here is the sight: www.evelk.comAddress: 5197 Eramosa Erin TL They also sell ELK ANTLERS for dogs! AND they have locally raised bison, wild boar, venison, and grass fed beef from other farms in the area. All frozen, but I have no issue with that. 'Fresh-frozen' is often better with game meats. The funniest part is that they have an ENORMOUS malamute dog... it's the size of a small car, and just lays in the parking lot. Her name is Sidney, and she'll give you lots of big sloppy kisses if you let her

thanks Jo......It sounds really, really good. We've had venison, and anything else that Kerrie's Dad and step=mom hunt for.....sounds like it would be an interesting stop ..... thanks for posting, and let us know what you think of the meat you purchased.

That's cool Jo. There is a farm down here outside of St. Catharines similar things. Elk Antlers maybe Reyna will chew on Zeus's Elk antler when she's here for Xmas, because he has never really went for it. I love backroads and travel them lots on my work trips and the things you can find. Another one is a streetcar/rail/train museum on Guelph Line just north of Derry that I pass all the time going to Monica's that looks really interesting and I've wanted to stop for a visit since the 1st time I went past it. I love pepperoni and dried sausages etc so I may have to check out that Elk farm. Knowing your background when you suggest food choices, I listen

Hmmm maybe we will have to stop for some elk antlers! We got Scarlet one in the summertime, it is massive though, like 12", and she has just gotten to the marrow recently... She loves chewing on it but gets fed up after a while lol maybe something smaller will entertain her.

Our Ronin wants nothing to do with them, even after soaking them in broth. Give the boy a knuckle and he is a happy camper.

I have a brand new $30 Antler here and Zeus played with it for maybe 5 min. BUT He went through probably 5-6 bags of 6 packs of rawhide Chew sticks in the same time.

That's so funny how dogs personalities and taste's vary. Scarlet will chew on just about anything. She has her antler in her crate all the time, and when she is out of her crate, she goes back in and pulls it out onto the floor to chew lol. Bully sticks, any meat product she will go nuts for!!
