So I took Kenzie to the vet yesterday because she develop two or three little bald spots and she cut he pad on the ice. We found out the bald spots are from demondex mange. We have to bath her three times a week. They couldn't do much about the pad so the cut off the little flap.

Awe....poor little girl. The cold weather, ice is hard on Dante's pad too. We purchased little booties for him that have a vibram sole so that it protects his pad when he goes outside for walks. If he goes running, well, we just keep an eye on him as they usually go flying off in any direction.

Is that a puppy localized demodex? Gino had it. I was boosting his immunity and bald spot disappeared in 2 months. Localized demodex has good prognosis. Don't worry too much. Sorry to hear about her pad.

Yes it is localized demondex. We have prescribed a wash that we use every other day. There hasn't been any new spots so that is good. Thanks everyone for your input. Here is a recent photo of Kenzie, it's taken with my phone it's not great. I took it this morning when we went for a walk in the bushes. Attachments:

She is lovely. A tired puppy is a happy puppy Localized demodex will resolve on its own when her immunity is more mature. Do you give her fish oil? It's really good for skin.

Just read this. Diesel had the same thing. He had tiny bald spots but nothing big. He's situation was really bad but he did get a bad irritation on his left ear. Under the General section, check out the thread I started named "Demodex".
Like Lisa said, its more prone to pups and older dogs who have suppressed or underdeveloped immune systems. It will go away but do watch when she starts scratching a certain area. It's can be very itchy and once she breaks the skin then you'd really have to go to the vet and he/she will probably prescribe Ivomec.
In terms of boosting Kenzie's immune system you can give fish oils (Thanks Lisa on this one), Echinecea powder, Ester C...these are among the stuff I was giving Diesel.
Anyways, read my original post and see if that helps.

Taya has resently become really dry and itchy. She has a couple balding spots on her hips. She bites/itches at them sometimes but not all the time..She has been on the same food for 2 years and she hasn't had a problem. I had her tested for mange and it came back negative. I have tried tea tree spray, organic flax oil, and egg whites. I also just had a baby and wondered if that was a factor :s I'm looking for any suggestions.. Please help!! Thanks stacy

How old is your Dobe?
I would expect to see skin issues appear around age three. I adopted a three-year-old and saw the same pattern. When I got him he had a bald spot on his tail that I've seen him chew when he's itchy, and he's also had the thinning spots on his hips from licking those areas.
Your Dobe may have become allergic to some ingredient in her food, or, this time of year inhalant allergies are prevalent.
What food are you feeding her?

I have nothing to add here of any value regarding the itchy skin conditions/ balding spots on the dogs. What I can add is that Kazi is a "focused licker" on her paws for no other reason than that's what she wants to do. So, last night I stopped her, but not before the bed underneath her was "wet". So, just keep trying to stop them from licking themselves before it becomes too much of a habit.

Dry skin is itchy. I would suggest to give her fish oil and don't bathe frequently. Raw feeding is a good solution for skin problems.
How is Kenzie doing? When Gino had a puppy demodex I did not treat it with medications. Raw food and supplements to boost his immunity helped.
