They passed their CGN test this afternoon and both did extremely well. We are very proud of our girl as I'm sure Dyanne and Bill are of Jack!!! The test was actually held in the same training facility where Dyannes schutzhund club trains, so we came a bit early to chat with some members.... Scarlet got to try out the flirt pole and played with some toys. She was very comfortable in the space right away and with everyone there. They think she has a good drive and potential so we are probably going to come to a few sessions and take it from there. I could see she was really happy and enjoying herself!! Thank you Dyanne and Bill for introducing us to the members and having us come out we will definitely be back soon

Yup, we're very pleased . . . although poor Jack may be regretting it. We're already giving him a hard time. ("What kind of behaviour is THAT from a dog with his CGN?" "Is THAT something CGNs do?")
All four dogs trying the test today were Dobes: Scarlet and Jack, a seven-month-old Landgraf pup, and a seven-year-old Soquel dog. All four passed, and afterwards, the evaluator commented on what a lovely group they made, so that was nice.
And Andreina, do feel free to come out. Scarlet clearly has potential, and even though we aren't doing tracking or protection this winter, there are a number of drive-building strategies that you could get going on and that would help prepare her.

Here is a video of Scar and I testing.... in case anyone is interested in seeing what it was all about... Really, it was a very easy test, as long as your dog is well mannered they should have no problem passing I think! oh one of the steps, I think #5 (walking through a crowd) is missing as our camera person had to be a volunteer lol. Enjoy.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWE7scyga3w

Maybe just a good shot of you with your pooch siting on leash in heel position. Watched both videos, must say that me thinks Jack could be ready for his CD. Could be a good prepper for the BH. just a couple things that are different, like the leash change over with the about turn. dog stays on your left with the CD. Curious if the judge would accept the BH style of abouts though, I`ll have to ask one of the judges.

Yep jack did really well. Him and Bill have a nice flow going on he is a good boy.
Anyone notice his smile during the stand for exam? Hahaha
Scar and I were just trying to get through it all LOL as you can see the obedience work was non existent in some parts... Half the time she had her nose to the ground looking for a hot dog piece she found earlier lol. But it wasn't a test for obedience... And I am still very proud of the CGN title!

That sniffing around is what made you think she needed a pee break . . . when actually she was looking for a wiener bit. The wiener bit was probably a leftover dropped earlier by somebody during SchH training. Shows you why the GSSCC voted this year not to allow food on practice fields at championships. A bit of leftover food can throw off even the best and most experienced dogs -- and Scarlet is not even a year old. I can tell you that Jack would have been hopeless at her age. He wouldn't have come close to passing.

Hmmm interesting about the food I for one think it's a good idea not to allow food on the field before testings, etc. it was quite distracting for her, She ate the first piece but I guess kept looking for more. That's ok, good thing it wasn't one of Monicas exams LOL;)
