We are the PROUD parents of our little athlete....KAZI!
She conquered the luring course yesterday at the dog show near Paris. And we are very proud parents of our little girl......we want everyone to know how well she did yesterday. She got her first point of three, and the way she ran yesteday, she will get her CA, and then we will go for her CAX.
Yeah, I'm hooked. Our smiles were ear to ear yesterday as we watched her run....what a thrill it was to see her become this little speck in the field, and then become large again as she tried desperately to catch the "rabbit foot".....Way to go Kazi!

Yes, the doubting parents were scared that their girl was more interested in the dogs around her then the chase. Tallyho and away she went! I have it on video too, but its upside down or else I would have posted it already. I posted Cajun's run on facebook. Guess I could move it over here. FYI, Its called a 'leg' Barb. Kazi has earned her first leg towards her CA. Too bad that there aren't anymore runs in Ontario this year. Off to Michigan with you? LOL! It is so nice to see the dogs doing what they were intended to do, just being dogs. Jo had the same ear to ear smile when Reyna did the run, and I did to the first time Cajun did it... and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th....lol. Its so much fun for the dogs that I don't even care so much about the title, its just great to give them this experience. Congratulations to Barb x Kerrie for finding something that Kazi enjoys, and yet still makes them smile....lol.

Yes, well Kazi had an awesome time doing it....a celebratory "stand" in the kiddie pool afterwards at the show to cool off her pads and body, and she relaxed on the journey home.
We are still smiling ear to ear.....

So does one need an intact dog to get a lure coursing title or is that something all dogs can do? Just curious, and I'd be totally terrified that they'd slip and blow a knee...or am I just the overcautious parent type? martin
