Thanks must go to Monica for hosting the Dobereich Family Christmas Party at her domain late Sunday afternoon. I could see the pleasure in her eyes of seeing generations of her dogs gathered at one event.....even though some of us "outwardly verbalized" some traits that were obviously inherited from her clan. LOL. It is always in jest though......I heard discussions of how Lana chose Diesel, Jo and Mark choosing Reyna, and of course how Dante choose Kerrie.....and how a little "green" collar girl chose our family----Kazi.
A very special "thank you" to everyone who brought food today.....your generosity made the day special, and everyone enjoyed the wide variety of food and treats, and coffee and soft drinks too.
A special thank you also to Susan and Monica for creating doggie treat bags for each of the dogs to take home. Of course special thanks for the dog treats that were made by our special friends for our special 4-legged friends. They truly enjoyed them, and we enjoyed watching them enjoy them.

Here is the recipe that Andreina asked for. I'm glad that Scar enjoyed it.
1 - package of liver 1 - egg 1 - cup oatmeal 1/2 - cup whole wheat flour (I prefer to use Spelt flour). 1 - clove of garlic minced You can also add in a little shredded cheese if your dog likes it, which I did in the batch for the party. Real parmesiano - OK it was Xmas!!
Put all ingredients in a food processor and mix to a smooth consistency. Spread mixture on a parchment covered cookie sheet and try to keep it a consistent shape and depth. Takes a bit of practice. Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins. A "silpat" sheet is excellent and speeds cleanup. (You can get the generic silicone ones at Cdn Tire)
NOTE: These treats last about a week in the frig so freeze what you won't use right away.

Wow....with training starting for level 1 on this coming Sunday, all the owners and their puppies/dogs must be getting nervous....LOL.
It's a full-house with all of the dogs signed up for level 1.....just want to remind everyone to bring water for their dogs and a bowl....wear comfortable clothing and shoes as you will be on your knees, followed by standing, walking with your dog.....bring your 6 ft. leather leash ( if you don't have one Monica can sell one to you Sunday ). While training is indoors, I would suggest layering your clothing, as your winter coat/spring coat will quickly be disgarded....ie. at our last training session, I was perspiring and would have loved to have worn a T-shirt under everything so I could have layered down to that.
If there are 2 of you coming, there are chairs to sit on in the corner for the second person to watch and learn also, especially helpful if both of you are training your dog at home.
I can say this for everyone ( level 2 people, level 3 and Monica ) we look forward to seeing not only you and your dogs, but watching you "grow and learn" with them.
