Oh, dear. the pix of Gambit and Daisy are melting my heart. If any other Z-litter folks post pictures, I'll be a huge puddle of puppy mush.

Oh, not fair, tiffymurmur. I'm already a puddle. Those little worry lines are soooo sweet.
And Paul and Cilla, are you sure Daisy has enough toys?

I have to agree Dyanne.....the pictures are so cute. I love how Daisy covered her eyes with her paw...I just want to squeeze these 2 pups. Tiffany: watch out for the cable wrapping around Gambit's legs. We used to use the same cable when Kazi was a puppy but she got it wrapped around her leg and when she went to pull away it only gets tighter. That went into the garbage after that episode. Try to find a 25ft or 30ft flat leash for their tie-outs. Just my 2cents here.....

Yea we couldn't find any still keeping an eye out though, I will check online we don't allow him to go on it unsupervised at all, we are always within a couple feet of him. I don't like them, honestly. I wish we had a fenced in yard. Soon enough we will be able to take him to the dog park and let him run from one end to the other I appreciate the advice!

Oh yes the dog park.....I can remember taking Kazi there as a puppy. I only took her in the "small dog area", which she was never small! The other owners would question me, but I always explained that I didn't want her getting into a scruff with an older or larger dog in the large dog area...the owners just seem to stand around talking to eachother drinking their Tim Horton's coffee while there dogs run unsupervised. And as we all know, whenever there's a scrap, it's ALWAYS the Dobermans fault.

I ordered a flat leash lead from Amazon, the stores here are useless lol. Yea I'm not nervous to the point where it shows, just mentally, I don't know the first thing about dogs and acceptable social behavior lol. I don't know whats play and whats fighting. The first few times Drew will be going lol. I will also learn all that in MY training. I say MINE because its me who needs the training and Gambit will follow suit. He is taking to walking around the yard, nicely. I have learned to master the walk Gambit is also Sitting nicely. Still has a LOOOONG way to go with the biting and jumping up. Dammit Gambit is an acceptable nickname for him lol. But we love him and he is beautiful, just a royal pain in our asses hahah.

I have to absolutely agree with Barb on her assessment of "the dog park". You really do have to watch the behaviour of other peoples' dogs towards your puppy because for the most part they won't. Too busy socialising and critiquing the fact that you chose a Dobermann??? I eventually gave up on our dog park and found a better country hiking trail area to let Quin run. He has some great dog pals there now (with responsible owners) and WE all get along great.
Its been years since I had a dog Tifffany and I certainly had a lot to re-learn about behaviour, etc. Don't worry, you will catch on quickly. Love the Dammit Gambit handle. Totally can relate to that..LOL. Quin is almost 3 and still acts like a goof.

Yea, Obviously we are all partial to Dobes. But I don't understand the prejudice towards them. Bad rap, most will only be able to be swayed after meeting a well mannered Dobe.
I will be watching the dog park dogs like a hawk. I watch my kids while playing at the park, the same rule applies with the pup at the park. Eagerly awaiting his shots so we can take him out into the "great wild yonder" He is bored with the yard and same old play. Soon!!!
