What a happy cache of wiggly joy. Now that the pups are getting more lively, no wonder dear Cajun looks a little haggard. She's exhausted. But she'll bounce back with all the good care you'll give her Andreina.

The Puppies will be 5 weeks old on Easter Sunday, That is the best Easter present That means 3-4 weeks left until our pups come home! We are so excited to bring our boy home, our 3yr old keeps asking "May I have a puppy please?" I think he will change his mind once we get him here lol. We rearranged our room and the Crate fits wonderfully. Tomorrow we are scouting out pet stores, I know Monica will give us a puppy package with recommended toys/food etc., Is there anything I should be looking for that a new puppy owner wouldn't think of (if there is a sale, I might want to take advantage )? I read somewhere on the Forum's that Monica is using the "Go!" brand of puppy food so we are going to be pricing that out also. I know a lot of you are doing Raw, we will be looking at 50/50 to start with. We haven't been bothering Monica because I know she was expecting the A-litter, so she is likely extremely sleep deprived with 2 litters lol.

Tiffany, the only toys Scarlet plays with are the orange chuckit balls, the strong orange street hockey balls and rope tug toys. The rope tug is only for play and motivation for training, she doesn't get it other than that.
Stuffies dont last, even the "tuffy toys" nylabone, kong brand (unless its the black kong), and anything else was destroyed within moments lol! Sometimes ill pick scar and caj up stuffies from the dollar store for 2$ or if they are on sale at petsmart.... because i know they will just kill them.

yea stuffies are a no go lol, Next thing we know the kids bedrooms are full of fluff and their favourite animal has gone "missing" and the dog has one of those "I didn't do it" looks on his face hahah

I should have bought stock in the Kong company after my last boy. We went through a million of the Kong Womba's. That was the indoor throw toy as he was quite the retriever.

Hi ... it's Barbara and I'm just getting caught up on the computer tonight. As your puppies are coming into the spring season, they will be playing around outside which means some mud and dirt. We picked up inexpensive blankets at the Dollar store for $2 and used them to cover their dog beds as it was easier to clean them than a dog bed. Dog beds===cheapest place to buy them is at Costco...perhaps a rain jacket as they weather will no doubt have spring showers in it. If a pet store has cheap ones on sale, or if you know of any other pet owners who could lend or sell you a small size cheap, then think about it. As they will be growing so fast, don't spend a lot of money on one as they could outgrow it in as little a 2 weeks. Just a few suggestions as I think about it...

Thanks for the advice Barbara! Drew and I were doing the dance between the blankets and the bed. Your comment definitely helped us make the choice. I know our pup will be growing fast so I would hate to fork out the money for the crate bed when he will grow out of it quickly, but him being comfy was my argument lol. If your agree that blankets are fine then I am good with that! (I was at dollarama and grabbed one of those blankets coincidentally lol). One of the pet stores has some rain gear on clearance so I will take another look at it. Do you happen to know what size a Dobe-baby would need? How is Cajun doing, Andreina? I heard she is home now for a much deserved rest. We are thinking of her

Hi Tiffany, Cajun is doing awesome thanks for asking. Scarlet really missed her mama, and I'm sure they will be back into the normal routine in no time. FYI if your pup is anything like her mama, she will suck on blankets lol. Cajun has an assortment of beds, but also loves curling up in her blankies... Scarlet has no use for a bed on the other hand, and sleeps with tons of blankets piled up in her crate. We get the 5$ double throws at walmart.... I also found a queen size fleece throw for 10$ so I have a few of those around too. If you find sales stock up lol! It's good especially for puppies... You can throw a blanket in their crate, and if they have an accident u can just put a fresh one in after you clean anything that leaked off.
