Today was a great day out with the kids walking through Bloor West Village and high Park. We really enjoyed meeting a few more people and their 4 legged fur kids as well as the "regulars". I sure hope to see a lot of pics. Sorry, I didn't take any this time and left my camera gear in the car. Lilly is all tuckered out. So glad the rain held off for as long as it did. Looking forward to D.O.G. III where ever it may be held.

1st off I would like to say in public that today is a very sad day for one of our Dobereich Owners Group,Carol L a.k.a. Luvbirds.
Carol has a red dobereich male named Monty and she also had a male Petey from a different breeder who just passed from DCM. I'm proud to say I met Carol through DT, she spent time as a Moderator there and we became internet friends. She is truly a very special person and Petey was a very special dog, famous at DT for his fight with DCM. Carol did everything above and beyond what many people would ever do for their dog. Carol made sure to make Petey's life special, provide every option of health care out there, share every day and live it to the fullest. Monica, Barb and Kerrie, Bill and Dyanne, and myself have followed Petey's journey. Other's may know it too.
RIP Petey you will forever be in the hearts and soul and everyone who's life you touched. Carol we all send our prayers to you and your family in this difficult time. On Behalf of D.O.G , the members today all celebrated Petey's life and we dedicate our day and D.O.G 2nd meet in memory of Petey.
D.O.G 2nd meet Quick Summary............. It was a great day and thanks to everyone that came out. I LOVE to see us all together and enjoying each others company and sharing stories and seeing different Dobereich dogs. Thank You Joanne for all your help and support and the inspiration to make D.O.G a reality!
Display your D.O.G decals with pride everyone! Remember Dobereich Ownership has it's privledges, not only awesome dobermans but this great message board and a cool D.O.G.
Thanks to mother nature for holding off the rain today too! 13 people and 9 Dobermans made it out!
We had a great walk and the majority did the full long walk. Kazi and Scarlett did the full medium walk and it was so cool as I was going from front to back and in between the pack for pictures etc and watching Scarlett. It was so awesome how she was watching all the adult dogs and just loving being part of all the action. Zeus was pretty excited too as he's now got a new red friend amongst a sea of black dobermans!
Kazi was 1st to give Barb another blue ribbon and I think Kerrie might have even snapped a picture!. Scarlett was next to give Julian a blue ribbon on Bloor street but she's a young pup so that's expected.
Ronin was the oldest and he showed he's a wise and mature boy and Lilly also was wise and mature like Ronin. Diesel and Zeus never got into it today over Reyna and for the most part all the boys were really well behaved.
We had many people commenting on the group as were were up and down Bloor, in the park, at Starbucks, on the way etc. I was watchng the people in the street bars etc and saw many heads turning and comments on the amazing dobermans as they paraded by all on their best behaviour. We did good for the breed and Dobereich today everyone!
Bill, Dyanne and myself were the lucky ones on the way back at Starbucks to get a street runner who was a few shy of a full deck telling us we have must be insecure, ego issues, something like that to have dobermans, "they are all agressive and people sick then on him in High Park." Bill took the high road and provided words of wisdom and educated, but deep down I know we were thinking... "Start running buddy...D.O.G. dogs...GETERDUN!" But they were all pretty busy hanging at Starbucks and then eating doggy cones from the old Bark and Fritz.
We ended up back at the park, had a great picnic and leisure time and poor Bill and Dyanne and Jack did what I did the 1st time in the park. "Hey I'll just take this trail, it should get me back" I guess when they saw the Queensway and the lake they knew they were lost!! Don't feel bad Bill and Dyanne I did the same thing scouting out High Park my 1st time.
Caroline great shots! I'll get mine up on my photobucket account soon and do up a official group shot for the event with logos etc. I'll wait to see what group shot looks best and use that. Bill's camera looked pretty cool so I suspect his picture quality will be the best.
Bill thank you for all the photography. I saw you taking many photos at dog level so hopefully you got some nice stuff to share.
So..........stay tuned D.O.G 3rd meet is next! Open to any suggestions locations etc that could be considered. I know there is a later Woofstock in Toronto I'll look for the date.

That's so nice Gary to dedicate D.O.G. II in memory of Petey! If you decide to send her card or flowers I would be happy to join you. Petey was very special dog and I followed his battle with DCM too.

Wow! Looks like everyone had a great time and glad to hear that the weather held out as well. I wish we could have made it but it was the dreaded tail docking day and my attempt to persuade Mom into keeping the tails natural was not a success! We will make it out to the next D.O.G. meeting for sure, I would like to bring Apollo and Mom was talking about going with Autumn/Eden. Gary, I also started to work on a refined version of the logo in black that I will send to you soon... hopefully ;D I can't believe that ignoramus runner guy said that to you, i wonder if people "sick their dogs on him" before or after he talks that crap! I had some issues while living in Toronto with my boxer, Fauna, like one guy who told me to put a muzzle on my pit bull and not to walk her down our street anymore Oh well, some people will never know what they're missing out on. All these pics are awesome and the dobies look like theyre having a blast! Keep em coming!

Great day, yesterday. The best part was that, by the time we finally got home, Jack was totally whacked; in fact, he's still sleeping this morning as I write this.
Bill has more than 300 pix (lots of people's knees as he tried to get shots at dogs' eye level). We took a quick look when we got home last night, and many are pretty good. He'll try to cull them later today and post them asap.
It was lovely to meet everyone. All the dogs were remarkably well-behaved, but Ronin, Zeus and Lily really stepped up and set great examples. Not so with Jack, the troublemaker, whose mastery of the sneaky stink eye probably drew Dante into a free and frank, but brief, discussion of their differences. Scarlet's puppy antics charmed everyone, and Diesel, Kazi and Reyna were fun to watch as they boinged back and forth between being total puppies and providing hints of what their grown-up personalities will be like.
Again, thanks to Gary and Joanne for organizing the outing. Looking forward to next time.
