It was a beautiful afternoon so decided to drive out to the racetrack for a run with Zeus. Interesting afternoon! I know he was 77.4 lbs on the scale at Pawsway on the Woofstock walk so he's finally filled in after his "snip snip". I decided to try out the new camera and what the heck decided he should make a few passes on the radar gun too. Well it seems he's not as nuts to run but he's also gained about 12 lbs from his previous best days on the radar gun. Now he's just a 3 year old "Has Been" for speed. 22 MPH was all he did!! He has to hang his head in defeat to Cajun at 24 MPH and I think Reyna was 23 MPH so now he can't even catch a couple girls! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D He did have fun though and was soooooo happy as you can see in the pictures! That's really the best part seeing him cutting loose and happy. He was good on his recalls too The new camera is amazing for taking shots of a running dog. Ian I had it off auto to sports setting I was getting crazy. Next I have to figure out res settings and that stuff to be sure I'm getting the good settings Enjoy! Is he happy or what in the shot! Oh my, he's actually looking a little chunky. I cannot believe it, its only been 10 days since I seen you two last, but wow. I think we should have had the gun on Cajun when she was running that lure course. That was by far the her challenging her every limit on the open stretch. Its so nice to see the dogs running full out eh. If you look hard, you can actually see her veins bulging under her skin.

Great shots.....ok Gary you better bring the camera tomorrow to training.....more pictures of our dogs.....when I looked at the picture of Zeus standing over the puddle of water, first thing I noticed is the fact that he and Dante are brothers! OMG their faces are very similar....I see the eyes, the facial bone structure..(ok I am his Mom so allow me to brag) ....I guess it just still amazes me ..... they are good-looking males!

Great shots Gary... it's fun when you finally end up getting the shots that you want. You will find however that you will get more critical of your photos. Other people will tell you it's a great shot, and you'll think to yourself... if only I had done this... I wish I would have got that... Well, if you're like me you will anyway. I'm happy that you got off of the Automatic setting... but I'll tell you that being on "Sports" setting is just a fancy way of saying "Automatic for moving objects". We need to get you on to the Manual setting... where you adjust shutter speed and aperture based on what you're shooting... but you'll get there young grasshopper... LMAO... When was the last time you were called "young" Gary?

Oh, and Magnum says... "Give me a straight stretch and get the radar gun ready and I'll show you what a 5 year old can do!!"

Lovin the pic of Zeus Gary. You can definitely see he's filled out more. I was really surprised at how much weight he's gained and how muscular he looked in comparison to last time I saw him.
Cajun's a monster in that 2nd pic Monica...all muscle...0 fat!

Reyna is up for her second go at the gun... perhaps a race with Cajun is in order tomorrow, Monica?? ;D
GREAT pics Gary!! Zeus looks like he's having FUN! Reyna had a great run in the off-leash trail today with her buddies... she is now snoring on the couch.

You've all seen this pic, but I had to add it to the thread. I think Cajun and Reyna would tear up the yard given the chance! LOL Attachments:

We need to get you on to the Manual setting... where you adjust shutter speed and aperture based on what you're shooting... but you'll get there young grasshopper... LMAO... When was the last time you were called "young" Gary? Actually I'm getting some of my youth back Ian! I used to like photography back in my 20's. My highlight was getting Press passes to the inside track of the Kawartha Cup ice oval snowmobile races back in 78 with a guy that was a semi pro photographer. Some of my shots were picked up by Ski-doo so that was pretty exciting for me. I was trying to pan with the camera and blur the background with Zeus and I need manual for that. Is that a shutter speed priority or a aperture priority?? what kind of range should I be choosing? Match the dogs motion with steady panning to blur the background? That's a cool effect the dog at speed streached out and all the background blurred showing motion. I'm already critical of my shots....it will only get worse! If I can get the right motivation I think Zeus can still run faster than his old best of 24 MPH. When he was running the other day he wasn't trying to go fast he was just cruising and enjoying himself. Chris still isn't feeling great after her hand surgery so she was close to the truck and he wasn't really into getting to far from the truck. Monica I can't believe you are saying Zeus might be looking overweight . He was stuck at 65 lbs from about one year old till basically this Sept. He was so frigging picky eating and would go without eating sometimes for days. Since he recovered from the neuter surgery he never misses a meal. He doesn't wolf it down but he eats his 2 squares a day, every day! I'll charge up the radar gun battery it's pretty old and not sure how long it will hold a charge but if it turns out that someone wants a shot on the gun, I'll have it with me. I think Reyna could be the fastest if she gets on her game with the chuckit ball. I can see for holeshot she's queen as she is at speed in a very short distance. Cajun was pretty fast on the lure coursing. That would have been a good place to radar her.
