I was just starting to think about that as well... The girls will constantly be growing so I'm thinking nothing to expensive this year. I've heard lots about the chilly dog coats, but she will probably outgrow it too soon to spend that kind of money. I am thinking to wait til the last minute to order though so I can have her size more accurate.
I will have to do a search and post if I find anything.

I have ordered the Hurtta winter coats for Gino and Asha from Euro dogs design They are still on sale... but it will be over soon. www.eurodogdesigns.com/Warm-Winter-Dog-Coat_p_33.htmlIf you let your pups to run off-leash they won't need a winter coat They will grow a lot over the winter.

I will check that out, thanks. I will also check out Chilly Dig products since they are made here, close to where I live. I have an appointment to have Kenzie measured but will check out Hurtta coats for sure.

I have 2 for Zeus and they are easy on and off stand up great and no velcro. I would buy another in a minute and no problem to reccomend them. Andrenia because Scarlet is a redhead and she's just about right in size I have a coat for you. I'll bring it to the next D.O.G meet and it should be a good fit for Scarlet's size by the time the cold weather is here. You are welcome to it for nothing if you would like it. It may work good until she's big enough to get a Chilly Dog or the coat's like Lisa likes. If you want it it's yours, just pass it on to another pup when she outgrows it. ( Pic attached) if you don't want it no problem, don't feel you have to take it. I'll bring a Chilly Dog so you can see what they are like and how the fit. Attachments:

Here is the Red and Black Chilly dog. I prefer the red and back on a red doberman but they have other colours beside the 2 I have so lots of choices. The best place is buy direct from Chilly Dog and contact them for sizing. If your dog is close in size to Zeus I can tell you my sizing and part # as I kept that info. Both my coats are the sme size. The Great White North's wash up really well in the washing machine, easy on and off and just 2 plastic snap fastners on the back. Zeus has run like a maniac and never any issues and from the 1st time I put a Chilly Dog on him he loved it. Never chews at them or anything. The weight of the coat and level of warmth is perfect for anything you will have in Ontario. If it's a cold enough day around Ontario that you need a warmer coat than a GWN you won't be walking your dog anyway as his feet will be freezing and unless you have booties on him he won't be outside for any length of time. Jedi has that same coat...well it used to be Jade's so he has to take good care of it. Anyways it's been a while since I posted so I wanted to provide an update about Jedi. His training is coming along well and his ears have been standing on their own for a few weeks now. He is housebroken however he did have a random accident last night. The only diffculty we are having in regards to training is that he has a real bad habit of jumping up on the counter or on our lap when we are eating. He just doesn't seem to care about consequences. We will keep working with him and will soon be enrolling him in obedience school.

Jedi's ears are standing without posts for 2 weeks on their own? What!! Am i far behind or something. Scarlet's are only out for just over 48 hrs and getting soft. Is Jedi done teething?? Scarlet also hasn't had an accident for a month until last week she decided to squat in the middle of my room, stared at me and took the longest pee I have ever seen. I don't know what's up with that either? Counter jumping, we put a bunch of pennies in a pop can with duct tape over the top and placed in on a tea towel hanging of the counter. When she would grab it and tear it down the can would fall on the floor and scare her. She rarely jumps anymore... lol. I have read it works because it's a correction not from a human, it's something they figure out on their own. ps. pictures of Jedi would be awesome:) We have not been seeing any O Litter boys here..

Yeah his ears would get soft after removing the posts but yeah they've been standing nicely for a couple weeks now. He still has a few teeth left I believe. Oh and he is already 40lbs and growing! By the way has Scarlet had any acne? Cuz Jedi has a cluster of it on his nose and it doesn't appear in her pic that she has.

He's gorgeous wow! Scarlet is close to 50 pounds now, still growing every day, I think she's gonna be a big girl!
She never specifically had acne on her nose (maybe one spot) but she had some spots on her back with hair loss which was staph. Read around on the forum, particularly my post titled itching and scratching or something... I would get it checked out before it gets bad and spreads, lots of people's dogs on the forum had the face acne and you need to get some antibiotics.

Chin acne is an issue for Dobes in general due to their short hair. If you squeeze the zits you will get dead hair that has been pushed into the follicle bed along with oils from the food. Clean the chin with antibacterial soap once a day and there shouldn't be any need for antibiotics. But left unchecked it can develop into a staph infection, and this can spread. Bare in mind as well that reds tend to have more sensitive skin.

Jedi eats 4-1/2 cups a day split over 3 meals and he still sometimes gets loose stools but we are also in the process of transitioning him to a grain free formula of Canidae ALS so that might be why. The differences besides being a little more expensive is that it has no rice, oatmeal or millet and has less calories and more protein. Apparently because dogs are carnivores they don't digest grains that well so it really only acts as a filler that gets pooped out. He also seems to like it more so it's worth the added cost. Thanks for the advice btw.
