Jedi is one handsome dude! Does he ever remind me of my boy at that age, scary how much they look the same in the couple pictures you posted.
He must take after his mom Cajun lots as my boy and Cajun could pass for brother and sister same litter even though they aren't close related at all.

Scarlet is on 4 cups a day now, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. We started that about a week and a half ago, and I have since noticed a big difference in her body. She is beginning to look very thick. It may be a combination of the 2 meals as opposed to the 3 and the food increase, who knows! All the pups look so beautiful! Are you close by Toronto? If you are, you and Jedi should come out to a D.O.G meet!

Pups should be on 3 meals until 5 months of age, or there about. Autumn is thin and eats 3 times a day. Switched her to Acana grasslands and she eats 1 3/4 cups each meal. So that`s 5 1/4 cups. I wouldn`t say that she is anywhere near 50 pounds and find that a bit heavy for this age to be honest. I`ll have to bring Autumn in to be weighed. Her ears are not standing for more then a few days before i re-tape them.

So yeah probably close to 40ish then now. My mistake. They are almost 5 months now, I thought we should switch to 2 meals between 4.5 and 5 months. Should I put her back to the 3 meals per day then and increase the amount for another little while?? We only started that about a week and a half ago. We took her posts off Wednesday night and had to tape last night again. She has been loosing lots of teeth and more coming in.

Kenzie looks thin too. During our visit with our vet, she said Kenzie was at a good weight. She is around 42 lbs. She is on Orijen grain free puppy but we were too thinking of switching to Acana.

YES PLEASE SWITCH! I do not recommend Orijen for Dobermanns of any age. Its simply way too high in fat and protein and risks renal and joint problems down the road. Feeding this food is almost the same as feeding your puppy kitten food. Pups start looking leggy and thin around 4 months of age. All the weights listed for the O-pups sound right in line, and this is in line with other pups from other litters. It would be healthy (ideal) to see the last 2 ribs on your pup when standing straight. Whenever your puppy has a growth spurt they will appear thin again and maybe will show more rib. Your pups might need 5 cups of food by now (or soon). In fact they might even eat up to 6 cups of food by the time they reach 6 months of age.

Reyna LOVES the Acana Grasslands! Gary got me onto it! Must be like dog crack cause even the fussy ones (ie Reyna and Zeus) seem to gobble it up! LOL
She eats raw food in the AM, and Acana in the PM... for some oddball reason she turns her nose up at raw food at home, but LOVES it at daycare. They feed the dogs seperately, but I suspect it is a competition thing. Or maybe just a Reyna thing. Ideas?

Things were so bad that, last fall, when we kenneled him while we went away for a week or so, we feared that he wouldn't eat at all. Feeding tips were a huge part of the pages and pages of instructions I left with the kennel. Turns out our worries were unfounded. Even though Jack got less exercise than he was used to, he ate just fine. Afterwards, the kennel owner said that he finds that this often happens with picky eaters and speculated that, yes, it is a competition thing. The dogs eat because they want to make sure that none of the other dogs gets their food. Could we deal with Jack's reluctance to eat by getting another dog? Maybe . . . but even we are not planning to go that far. LOL.

We switched Dante to the Acana Grasslands shortly after Gary switched Zeus. It made a significant difference in Dante's "poops" as on the Canidae they were very soft. Now Kazi is almost 8 months old and she is still eating Canidae, and doing really well on it. We mix in about 1-1 1/2 cups of Acana with her Canidae daily, but don't feel the need to switch her completely to the Acana at this point. In fact, we have to now give Dante 1/2-1 cup of the Canidae on top of his food, as he has acquired a taste again for Kazi's food. (probably only because she is having something that he isn't..lol)

DId you try to feed her dog food in the AM? Gino has been fed raw since he was 6 months old. When I brought Asha he got a huge appetite to her dog food. I decided to feed them both dog food in the morning and raw in the evening. It works great. After eating dog food for a while Gino loves his raw again Gino is a picky eater... and he is spoiled. Is Jack spoiled too? Do you add treats to his food? Does he ask for better food and get it? Barb, Asha eats Canidae and Acana Grasslands mix too.... how odd it is! I want to switch them completely to Acana....mixing it with Canidae.

Haha we all seem to be switching to Acana. I've recently switched Diesel to Acana Prairie since I know he loves chicken more than anything. It's not to say that he's really picky with his food because over the last year I've gone through 3 brand changes and he seemed to be okay eating them. The only reason why I switched was because his poo like you said Barb/Kerrie was a bit soft on Canidae and for some reason Go was thinning him out IMHO. Adding a bit of sweet potato in his meal does the trick too...he really loves that. As much as possible I dont add treats in his meal since I don't want him getting used to it and I noticed he only picks on it and leaves the rest of his food. He'll eventually eat it though since I don't give anything else except what he's got on his bowl...if he doesn't want it tough...he ain't getting any other add ons LOL. Diesel unfortunately doesnt seem to like raw tried it and didnt like it. So far, he loves Prairie and maybe will try him on Grasslands too whe he gets bored of this one.
