Hi Everyone,
I wanted to post this as a warning... DO NOT BUY any of these toys:
www.mammothpet.com/tirebiter.asp
If you have it, THROW IT OUT IMMEDIATELY. It is very toxic.
I hadn't read the reviews and bought one for Reyna... she has NEVER been sick or vomited. Ever. She vomited a total of 20-ish times in less than 1.5hrs after chewing this awful thing until there was absolutely nothing left in her stomach and she was dry-heaving.
She doesn't eat chew toys, and thankfully only swallowed a few pieces (judging by what was gone from the toy, what i collected on the ground, then what she vomited up), however, it made her very very ill. After a quick web search, it appears this is a common problem with this toy!! I can't BELIEVE they are still selling it!!! Here is just one site with reviews. If you scroll to the bottom, you will see a link for 'read all reviews' or somthing of the like... click to read the stories.

I thought that the large tire would be great! She iganored it for days, then suddenly the other night, picked it up and that was it... love at first bite. She chewed it for an hour. The rest you already know...
So awful. I am so upset about it... Not only because of her obvious suffering but also because of the potential harm it could have caused her and may cause other dogs. This company needs to stop selling these... they MUST know that they are harmful, it's all over the internet!!
If you are looking for a good toy, I have a few so far that Reyna just loves. I would recommed any of these:
- deer antler
- dinobone (still the same one sent home by Monica when she was 8 weeks old!! she goes to town on that thing daily... i am baffled how it's still intact)
- big orange ball (don't know the name)
If anyone knows anyone who had a similar expreience with this toy, can you please send them my email: jolusted@hotmail.com.
Perhaps this thread can be dedicated to 'DOBERtoys' where we can list suggestions?
If anyone has questions about this, please let me know!
Jo & Reyna
