I buy 80-90% from a raw food supplier. The supplier is buying from AB farms and sorting, grinding and packing the meat. They have a great selection of meat/meaty bones/organs. Also I buy food from groceries. My dogs love chicken legs and pork short ribs I buy in CO-OP on sales ( $1.20-$1.80/lbs). Also I buy pork heart/tongue/liver/pancrea and meaty ox tail bones from China town (approx. $1.20 - $1.50). Sometimes I see good sales when shopping and can not pass by... you will get addicted too!

I've followed this thread, but for whatever reason I still can't get my head around "raw". I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress with this Nik.....I won't say we wouldn't ever do it, just watching still.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress with this Nik.....I won't say we wouldn't ever do it, just watching still. That's what I thought too. I guess it helps having someone to talk to in person and hear of their success. Jen always talks about raw and I think coco eats better than me lmao!!! Like I said I would be so up for it if I had room for a huge freezer. I think raw has some great benefits and you can see for yourself what you're putting in your dogs mouth. Plus kibble I'm sure gets boring we just added some Acana Burbank kibble into the mix yesterday and she loves it! Trying to mix it up a bit for her as she hasn't been interested in eating lately.

dobermoms and andreina - yes it helps massively having someone to throw ideas off of so overwhelming until you actually make the change. once you get a groove on, its so easy! lol i hope we can all learn from the advice lisa and jen and a few others have offered. it sure has helped me HUGE. you can do reading online but theres nothing like throwing ideas and asking for advice one on one

Here is the first page of the price list from our supplier. Does not it look good enough for your dogs Barb and Andreina? My dogs LOVE it.

Awww i love the video Lisa!! Those are some pretty decent prices you found. Cant find a supplier yet that will sell it the way I want them too. Ill have to piece it together all myself from various sources to keep costs down. I found bison trip for my little dogs in a can. No body has fresh tripe. I hear its stinky. Will give it to them next week. Im scared to open the can. Ill freeze separately whatever I dont use. Ugh Im so anxious and excited to start the dobes but the hubby insisits on waiting until their Orijen is complete.

Feed tripe outside and it won't be a problem. Ttripe I buy is stinky and is my dogs one of favorite meals.
Good luck to find a good supplier. It makes my life much easier. Did you try yahoo groups to ask about a supplier in your area?

Yep - talking to a few people from around here tell me i shouldnt have to pay more than 2$ but ill give myself a little extra and say 2.5. After i worked out for what i need im looking at about a 50$ saving a month for the dobes and about $25 for the little ones. This doesnt include exotic meats and these "extras" i buy on the side hehe if i went with premade stuff, i could still pull it off with some savings but not as much. Maybe $20 or so. I actually have fun though preparing. It seems really tedious but not really. I just pull out of the freezer, let it thaw, cut up a few beans or kale. Sometimes i put a little yogurt. Not every time but its so cute watchig them knaw on it adn growl when one gets too close. Nobody fights because they both back off. Im shopping for zeus and porscha next week. A little nervous about it only because im scared of bum disasters initially hehe but my plan is lots of chicken and pumpkin for the stool haha
