See Heather ( gismolady) we already have passionate responses both ways about ear cropping About very ear tip curling that Barb and kerrie mentioned.......I did get some good info from DT - Doberman Talk!!! I read lots there about breath rite strips being used on the last part of posting and related to tip curling. Zeus had very tall ears as a little puppy. See attached shot of the 1st time his posts were removed after his 1st posting. I never had to trim popsicle sticks in fact almost needed longer ones through the posting process. At the back end of posting I used actual breathe rite brand large. I used my electric razor and shaved the inside of his ears, wipe with alky to remove dirt and wax. Nipped the side wings off the tip of the breathe rite that went to the ear tip end and folded the breathe rite along the crease line and then stuck it inside his ear. This was on the very tail end of posting probably about 6 months in. I used the breathe rites for probably about a month or so. They would stick without added glue or tape 3-7 days. if I saw it coming loose, quick shave and wipe with alky and another breathe rite back on. Other generic brands did not work as well. So if you post and post and beyond teething and 6 months old and get to the point you just need a little help with the tips as the top of the ear isn't just right. You may want to try the breathe rites and see. They worked well for me. If someone wants it post away and I'm sure I have pictures of Zeus with the breathe rites somewhere to see how I used them. I think his ears turned out pretty good as you can see in any shots of him as an adult. Attachments:

I really love the way Monty looks. He is an extremely handsome boy. I'd like to see a female with natural ears from his litter, if there are any. If that is what Cleo and Rogun's puppies will look very similar too then I may decide to leave them natural. I had seen pics of Monty, but not the one's at the end of that thread.

Well Heather, you have lots and lots of time to figure it out. At this age their ears are so much bigger than their bodies, it's so cute. In fact, all of them is cutre. lol. I agree with Lisa, that if you think you love them now, well.....just you wait. You're going to be dober-crazy like the rest of us!!!
But seriously, thank goodness you have lots of time. The decision will come to you, I promise. Each Saturday since getting Kazi, she has come to work with me. Hahaha, well today I prompted my sister before her arrival...just you wait to see her and her growth this week. So in bounds Kazi, and I truly believe that she scared my sister with her growth. She appeared startled, and being scared of dogs herself, she was afraid of Kazi due to her height. She's our little terror....but she's still winning over my customers with her cuteness. And I think that the cropped ears make her look bigger too.

Wow I have to comment on the gorgeous scenery as well....it must be awesome to take the dogs for a lovely walk like that, and know that they can walk/run free without running into any issues that may occur. They are very, very lucky dogs!

Lisa I think you would have to cut and paste your type and then re-attach the photos.
I can modify and delete stuff but do not see an option to move in my moderator stuff. I wouldn't worry the posting traffic and viewing isn't tons yet here. I'm sure everyone does the same as me. They login in see what's new in the sections and look at all the new posts.
You make us all wishing to have one walk with the beautiful scenery and our dogs free to run off leash!
I just got back from my morning subdivision streets and sidewalk walk and it's no comparision to your pictures ;D
You know what they say that the grass is always greener somewhere else. I love Ontario and my little sleepy Grimsby and wouldn't trade it for the world. I like my subdivision living too.
Chris and I did the country thing when we 1st met in the late 70's. Our children were small in grade school and I swore that was my last stint of country living. Dirt roads, dust and dandilions, riding lawnmower and a long time to cut the grass and always working on that damn mower! Car always muddy, driving kids to school, friends, sports, everywhere! No stores close, driving for anything and everything.
I never liked being that rural and was happy to get back in a town. I like small town living. I wouldn't want to live in a bigger city like Toronto. Grimsby is 20,000 people, so we have the benefits of city living but still in a small enough town to never be stupid busy like Toronto and the GTA.
You snap me back to reality too Lisa! Lake Ontario is right at the end of my street 5 houses down and the Circle all the houses back onto Lake Ontario. So we are like 750' from Lake Ontario Shore. The street behind us is either the start or the end of our walk and there is great lake access and sandy beach i could do some walking on and I never do anymore.
I used to let Zeus freerun there everyday until his 1 year old birthday and he forgot what "come" was that day and was on his way to Toronto down the beach. That was the end of his freeruns there.

There he was in his glory of his Happy Birthday day and enjoying what males do, taking a squirt. You can see the lake Ontario shore on the right and about a minute later he was gone! straight ahead he could only make it to the marina entrance about 1000', but behind us he could get all the way to Jordan where 20 mile creek comes out ( about 15 miles away)and he was on his way! That was his last free run at the lake and now we go to the racetrack with 100's of acres of grass and fenced and secure. His recall is now pretty good at the track too! Attachments:
