TJ Just dropped Quin off at the vet for a procedure and took the opportunity to ask my Vet-tech, who is also a dog trainer, if she had any recommendations for you. She told me that she was familiar with the Rescue Remedy product but said she has actually seen better results with the Adaptil collar - especially for separation anxiety. It releases a pheromone to mimic the mother. Is also available in a spray for objects like bedding etc (not the dog) and a diffuser that plugs into an electric outlet (like a room freshener). You may want to ask your vet about it but here is the website for more info: www.adaptil.ca

Our vet recommended the same thing. It is one thing that is on my list to check out, when she mentioned the diffuser I was very intrigued... We are going to try this once we feel the other "solutions" are not working.
Looks like there is a big market for separation anxiety which is good. So hopefully we can find something to calm him until we can get him use to the idea that we will leave from time to time.
Thanks Susan for your inquiry!!!

Hi...wow aren't you having a time of it. Our boy Dante is/could be described as having separation anxiety. We tried the thunder shirt as the pet store recommended it....nothing. We just finally realized years later that he just is completely at ease when his "pack" is together at home. So when he is left alone thru the day, you should try to protect him ie. keep things away from him that he can rip/tear/
Dante is also a sheet-ripper....I finally realized that instead of throwing them out, I got the holes patched. Afterall, it was only our bed as he's not allowed in the spare rooms. So that problem is "solved". We always leave the radio on when we leave the dogs or a light on if we are leaving and it's going to be dark before we get home. We always use the same story when we go out---"we are going to work".

Many happy returns, V-litter. You're growing up beautifully. (The photo of Kallie is wonderful, but . . . is there a pink princess conspiracy going on between her and Daisy of the Z-litter? LOL.)

Do you notice Dyanne that the princesses are reds? Whether it's Daisy, or Kallie... Hmmmm....Happy Birthday V-litter dogs. I hope that all of the families enjoyed the day.

I was sure Daisy is red and was going to say something about it in my previous message. But in the pix with Gino and Asha, Daisy looks black. So I thought that I had somehow managed to be totally mistaken about her colour all this time. Maybe it's just the way the pix show up on my iPad screen? (Glad I'm not losing my alleged mind.)

Happy Birthday to the V litter gang.
Thanks for the updated photos of Kallie and Enzo. They are both looking good!!
Enzo reminds me of Quin at his age . . . lean, lanky and goofy. Love the t-towel shot. Helping with the dishes was he?
